White House officials are planning to suspend CNN reporter Jim Acostas press pass again, after a judge ordered them to temporarily restore it Friday, CNN has reported.
Officials sent a letter to Acosta with a view to revoking his newly regained privileges at the end of the month, the network stated.
CNN issued a statement Sunday claiming officials were [violating] the First and 5th Amendments of the Constitution. These actions threaten all journalists and news organizations, the statement continued. Jim Acosta and CNN will continue to report the news about the White House and the President.
Officials revoked Acostas press pass November 7 after a press conference with President Donald Trump. During a heated exchange between the pair, a White House intern attempted to take the microphone from Acostas hand. The reporterCNN's chief White House correspondentkept hold of the microphone and tried to finish asking a question, saying, Pardon me, maam, to the intern.
White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders later shared what appeared to be doctored footage of the interaction, sped up to make Acostas reaction to the woman look like an attempt to restrain her arm....

Is CNN really regulated by the FCC??
I saw it in real time and my first reaction was Thats a battery charge and posted as much right here on freerepublic.
“Never let him have access to a microphone.”
Need to let a big bad Secret Service agent pass that mic around also. That’d be hilarious.
Why not just get a mic rigged up so that when Acosta grabs for it and starts chatting...it just starts playing Bee Gees music until he releases it?
You must have missed the Helsinki press conference.
The entire corporate media is like Acosta. They use their press access to launch partisan attacks, not to do journalism.

Oh, well that makes it all right!
Oh, and this “doctored footage” crap — uh, huh. Just another story like “Trump makes fun of disabled reporter!” Report non-truth as truth. Repeat.

Or put an “off” switch on the podium?
I keep reading “doctored” video. What proof is there of this?
Have multiple microphones and shut one down when the other is handed over.
Makes it part of the process.
Every single video every single news outlet uses is “doctored” in some way
Sped up, slowed down, freeze-framed...any version one watches of this (except the one CNN “doctored”) it is clear to anyone what happened
The 5th amendment says to let unruly protesters into the WH?
Guarantee Trump will call on him after a couple briefings, prefaced by something like “Go ahead Jim, let’s see if you’ve learned any manners yet..”
CNN is on cable and is not a "broadcast" platform. There is no FCC license to yank
This is just following that Due Notice procedure. The doofus will have his press pass suspended.
No, Rick Astley.
Acosta’s claim was grounded on his expulsion as impairing his income and professional standing. Mere street protesters lack any such basis for suit.
I saw the assault live. Acosta assaulted that young lady and I said so the moment it happened. The White House could have pressed charges.
Arrest Acosta for assault.
Acosta, is planning next attack on the President and our Country!
