Wait - If Ocasio-Cortez can't afford D.C. rent, how did she get around during the campaign then?

It appears that Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) is unable to afford the astronomical rent for a D.C. apartment until she gets her first Congressional paycheck.

But who paid for her to campaign and criss-cross the country?

AOC barely campaigned within her own district. I doubt that she received thousands of dollars in small donations, given that she won her primary when three-fourths of the district didn't even come out to vote.

She was a mini-Queen maker, endorsing candidates in Hawaii, for example. And Hawaii is not cheap.

The plane tickets, the hotels, the clothes she wears, food....all this stuff isn't cheap folks. It adds up. Running a campaign is very expensive.

So she could afford to travel and campaign for others during the mid-terms, and now all of a sudden she's dead broke like the Clintons were after 2000?

My take on this is that this is just another leftist narrative being parroted, so she can pretend to be struggling (In the 'hood, they called it "Keeping it real.")

She's being fed and sheltered as I am typing now. I don't buy this for a second.

Remember her in the $3,000 outfit? It was given/loaned to her so she could model it while campaigning. She’s already taking bribes.

Yes, she made a big deal of it being ON LOAN for a photo shoot. Wanna bet she magically has thousands of dollars of new clothes to take to D.C.?

According to Green Papers, she got 1.8 million in donations, 1.3 million in disbursements.

She is going to need $2,400 a month in DC. And that is for a tiny English Basement Apartment. She should sleep in her office and shower in the gym like most people do. I remember a coworker would sleep on a partners couch and wash up daily in the restroom.

There was a Senator that lived out of a basement apartment of his chief-of-staff’s house (no one ever said the rent situation). I would bet that a quarter of all House/Senate folks have some condo deal where they are sub-leasing some two-bedroom place via some lobbyist for less than a $1,000 a month.

She’s the perfect target for exploitation by foreign entities.

She’ll take the bait AND the money.

Easy. She raised almost $2 million. Campaign laws allow you to spend $ on that sort of stuff. When you don’t need to spend actual $ on ads against an opponent, GOTV, mailers, signs, etc, well, that buys a lot of other “legal” stuff.

“And in a year she’ll have millions.”

She just announced she’s open for business.

here let me correct your statement of fact.

this is original statement
Rich libs are going to give her a bunch of money but they need to figure out how to do it “legally”.

here is my correction

Rich libs are going to give her a bunch of money but they need to figure out how to make it look as if it is “legal”.

#25. As they used to say about a female rider, “Is she riding on top of the horse or underneath”?
