Troops have been putting up a barbed wire border at the Rio Grande River. But its not like the rusty old barbed wire that we used to sneak through as a kid its concertina wire or razor wire.
They have laid about 1,000 feet of the wire along the Rio Grande River, as well as under the McAllen-Hidalgo International Bridge. The idea is to dissuade the Migrant caravans from crossing at that point in the river. The Rio Grande is a common place for illegal immigrants to enter the United States. The Border Patrol stated that the wire was part of necessary preparations for the arrival of the migrants.

The caravans were a safe & free way to travel for these wanna-be illegal aliens, but as they get closer it is NOT to their advantage to stay in a large group. The ones that really want to enter the US will disperse and try to enter in very small groups. The ones that are being paid for photo ops and political purposes will wait for others to make a large group of potential victims of the eeeeeevil Trump.
We cant have this as they will cut themselves trying to cross and then sue the US for bodily injury and Avenatti will take the cases
This will be an excellent exercise for our troops on guarding the perimeter.
“This will be an excellent exercise for our troops on guarding the perimeter.”
Excellent point!
Well, its a start.
1000 feet of wire wouldn’t secure a suburban lot. 1000 linear feet would be enough to front a suburban block.
10,000 men....that's 3 to a mile. Add phones and dogs and smoke bombs.
Im sorry, but 1000 feet is a photo op. We need1000 miles.
Electrifly it too..
For the determined ones.
Click bait.
Now I'm no Texan, but I do know that the Rio Grande is darn close to 2/3 of the U.S. / México border (1,255 miles of river out of 1,954 miles total border). So I would have to agree with the author's assertion that the "Rio Grande is a common place" to enter the U.S. I would even go so far as to say it's a common place for both 350 million legal border crossings per year as well as for illegal crossers alike.
Nah. It's not that hard shooting a stuck illegal alien off of razor wire. Getting the body unstuck will be good exercise, but it will be bloody work.
1000 feet down.
10,316,120 feet to go.
If the first few to approach illegally are shot, the rest will disperse rapidly.
“along the Rio Grande River, as well as under the McAllen-Hidalgo International Bridge. The idea is to dissuade the Migrant caravans from crossing at that point in the river. “
You know, at the point of easy crossing?
God knows why so many people here read these stories and then put on their discount Patton helmets, and then proceed to winge about they arent doing it right.
I wish this had started while President Trump was giving his inauguration address. The Joint Chiefs of Staff should have been given an eight year continuous training exercise in border control with at least 500,000 troops on the border rotation at all times. This would free up sworn law enforcement for sweeps beginning at the Canadian border and slowly driving illegals to self deport. Also stop all transfers of money between the US and Mexico unless for legitimate business. Designate transfers by illegal aliens as money laundering.
Sounds more like a pen for the press corps. /jurinal_humor :)
Why wouldn’t the caravans simply line up at the regular points of entry, as that eould give them legal entry until some court case comes around way down the road?
Need more than 1000 feet. Need 5000 miles of concertina wire, from San Diego to Brownsville and back again, and again, till a proper wall is made.
