The only way to keep the migrants out, is to engage in an Anti Invasion Action (AIA).
The military is already sending tanks and troops to the border which I suspect is because this is whats possibly planned.
Our military can engage in a limited action to push into mexico 25-50 miles along the southern border. We can then declare this strip of land to be part of an active military action, and prevent the movement of any people into or out of this buffer zone.
Therefore the invaders don't make it to our border.
I doubt we will meet much resistance from the Mexican military. It will be like when Israel invaded part of Syria recently to form a protective buffer zone.
Doesn’t have to happen. We have land that doesn’t make it behind our fences, so we can stage there.
That’s almost 100,000 square miles of territory.
How many troops would that take?
I think the most reasonable thing to do is to make a limited military incursion into Mexico.
Then close it off, in the meantime tell the congress to pass a law to solve the problem.
Somehow I think the dems will be in a huge hurry to actually do something. maybe not.

Given that the Mexican Army has made recent excursions into the US, the creation of a buffer zone south of the border seems more than fair.
Invade Mexico and threaten to shoot rock throwers? Is Trump trying to throw the mid-terms?

Where did this idea come from? Has there been a similar situation? If so, what happened there? Was the AIA successful? How about 6-8 months later?

Pushing 25-50 miles into Mexico would include invading large cities like Tijuana, Mexicali, Nuevo Laredo, Juarez, and Reynosa.
We would be violating the borders of a sovereign country if our military moves into Mexico.
1. I don’t want to engage in a military action against Mexico. This would be considered an act of war.
2. Pushing 25-50 miles into Mexico isn’t something I would consider a “limited action”.
3. How many troops would it take to push 25-50 miles into Mexico? The US-Mexico border is roughly 1,900 miles long.
4. Even if the military action worked and the invaders couldn’t reach the American border, how would the military handle the millions of Mexicans who live in that 25-50 mile buffer zone in the large border towns? Are they to be displaced? Are they to remain and be watched over?
I would be against such an action. Just build the wall/border system and have the Border Patrol stand guard and patrol with logistical and manpower support from the US Military as needed.
Why do you think Tanks are being sent to the border right now? The military doesn’t do stunts.
It comes from Israel creating a buffer zone in Syria to protect against ISIS and it has been very successful

The details are for the military to decide. I’m sure we would still allow commerce etc.

Why do someone so fraught with very negative consequences when there are many other ways to handle these people when they try to enter the country
