The Trump administration and the US defence industry are scrambling to save the few actual deals in the much-touted $110 billion arms package for Saudi Arabia as concerns rise about the role of the Kingdom's leadership over the death of a prominent critic.
President Donald Trump has hedged his criticism of Saudi leaders over the disappearance and death of US resident and Washington Post columnist Jamal Khashoggi, insisting he does not want to imperil a "tremendous order" of $110 billion of weapons he says will support 500,000 US jobs - figures that experts say are highly exaggerated.
Khashoggi's killing in the Saudi consulate on October 2 has caused global outrage and raised questions about the possible role of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the powerful de facto ruler of Saudi Arabia who controls the kingdom's security services.
Riyadh has blamed a "rogue operation" and said the crown prince had no knowledge of the killing....

Muslims killing Muslims WGAF.
I second that.
Muslims killing Muslims and millions of jobs for US workers.

The muzzie bro-hood POS Washington ComPost op-ed writer is gone, and good riddance. Half a million jobs from a $110 billion is $220,000 a job, a far better return than the money laundering ops set up by the Obamanation.
“Reuters has never heard of subcontractors?”
I had similar thoughts as I was running some numbers in my head and it wasn’t hard to arrive at that number, using standard economic impact/job creation factors. Most people who style themselves as “experts” are merely morons who nobody has called on their sh!t.
Jobs not slobs!
This man was no mere journalist. He was Bin Ladin’s friend and high up Saudi Intelligence working with the CIA for years -arms/drugs etc. smuggling.
CIA was getting money from about $50 million under the table deals. Trump stopped, the under the table stuff, and did it above board. CIA wants to get rid of MBS and go back to under the table stuff.
Very likely that CIA was involved in his death. Maybe torturing him to try and find out if he was leaking info about their network etc.
Profit not Prophet???
Meanwhile, anyone seen the head of Interpol lately...?

Those 'experts' know everything, I'm glad they are around every time we need advice.

16 Oct: BBC: Simon Jack: BAE Systems will go to the Saudi ball
The Kingdom bought a sixth of everything the UK defence contractor sold last year and BAE employs 6,000 people on the ground there...
But the BBC has been told that BAE officials will make the trip.
To be fair to BAE, selling military hardware is not a normal business. It is conducted with the express approval of the UK government.
The UK wants to have a national aerospace contractor like BAE - both for national security reasons and for the nearly 40,000 high-skilled, high-paying UK jobs it creates...
The infamous 1980s al-Yamamah series of arms sales to the Kingdom was described at the time by the Financial Times as the “biggest sale of anything by the UK to anyone”...
It was also well known that the French defence industry was sniffing around a new mega-contract at that time...

24 Oct: France24: France’s Macron evades questions on halting Saudi arms sales
French President Emmanuel Macron on Tuesday refused to take questions about halting arms sales to Saudi Arabia ...
Macron has sought to play down the importance of trade relations with Riyadh, saying that Saudi Arabia was not a major client of France.
However, from 2008-17 it was the second-biggest purchaser of French arms, with deals totalling more than 11 billion euros ($12.6 billion) for tanks, armoured vehicles, munitions, artillery...
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was similarly evasive when pressed on the issue, saying he is unlikely to cancel a substantial 2014 sale of armored personnel carriers to Saudi Arabia...

Good.
People need to accept reality as it is, not as they wish it is.
Iran must be crippled, period.
Just know that when you help one group of Muslims to defeat the other, the group you help will soon become your enemy.
It's Saudi money, not Iranian money, that funds Madrassas in Europe and the US that radicalize young Muslim immigrants. Supporting Sunni Islamism against Shia Islamism is like pouring liquid nitrogen on your hand to treat a fire burn.
It makes sense to support moderate Muslims with a secular orientation against Islamists. Such Muslims do exist: King Adbullah II in Jordan, General Al-Sisi in Egypt, Mohammed in Morocco.
However, Saudi Arabia is neither moderate nor secular. Saudi society is the Sunni counterpart to Iranian Shia Islamism, and is in some ways more malignant. As I said in my earlier post, money from Saudi clerics (thanks to the largesse of the Saudi Royal family) is more responsible for radicalizing Muslims abroad than any other source.

That cash mostly came from people MBS targeted immediately when he gained power. Nasty rich people backing the Muslim Brotherhood, which has a beach head in the US. And MBS is working to stop it, including the cash coming to the US to establish sharia law. Jared Kushner is working directly with him on this and other things, like cutting off funding for the PA. And it’s working.
MBS is a reformer, the best bet for SA to stop their backing of evil Islamists. MBS is being targeted by Iran, Turkey, and asshats here like Ben Rhodes and Brennan and valjar.
That’s the actual reality, and Trump knows it. Hopefully you do, too. If MBS goes, so does middle east reform.
