MAHER: Because he’s a traitor.

How so? By pulling us out of treaties/agreements that weaken the US? By negotiating trade agreements that are favorable to the US? By putting Americans and America first. Just who or what is President Trump a traitor to?

OOOh - Good face lift. They got the right eye brow/lid a little higher than the left though.

I wonder - is her husband the old speech writer with an alleged alcohol problem still alive?

To adapt an ancient joke: Bill said “I feel your pain”. Monica replied, “Uh Mr. President, that’s not my pain.” Doris Kearns Goodwin: Bill Clinton clearly wanted to feel Monica’s pain but missed the mark; that’s what makes him a great President.

Goodwin wants Trump to spew fake humility, empathy, and resilience like Democrat Presidents, who view their voters as children who need coddling. Trump by design projects confidence, the expectation of success based on achieving success, strength, belief in himself and his country, saying and does what he wants, rather than parsed legalisms, etc., to appeal to voters who don’t want a weak, humble loser to empathize with their pain. Trump wants the American public to be winners. He is about results, not process. That’s what “I prefer heroes who don’t get captured” means.

no empathy; that he has no resilience

Oh your lying eyes Professor Goodwin. Your lyin' effin eyes.

The dems just did the most grandiose Pelosi wrap-up smear against Kavanaugh utterly destroying his wife and two young daughters and undermining a life-long career based on the highest personal ethics.

It looked like he was down for the count and the American public was going to lose the services of a first rate jurist. Trump led the armies to the counter-attack. He showed both sympathy, such as one can for the slandering perjuring Dr. Ford and he showed sympathy for the family of Kavanaugh. He fought and helped us fight onto victory. That is the very definition of resilience.

Your problem is not that he lacks resilience, but that he has resilience and determination in spades. He is a full-blooded testosterone laden male out to fight for his country and to win the battles against traitors and their soft-headed enablers, such as your self, necessary to preserve our Constitutional Republic.

Just like your great hero Lincoln did - or did you forget that you wrote that book. And if you recall you put in it that Lincoln relied upon that drinking, swearing, bloodthirsty we will fight to victory Grant and pushed aside that inside the beltway popinjay McClellan - ok the beltway did not exist then, but perfumed princes seeking promotion through closeness to the political leadership sure did.

Democrats get all their power from the media and the Supreme Court. How deliciously ironic that the media would allow its reputation to slip that much further in a Desperate attempt to block a conservative Supreme Court majority. That’s What I Call killing two birds with one stone. MAGA!

expectation of success based on achieving success

First, Trump determines what success would look like and why enough people would want it that achieving it is in the realm of possibilities - the old would you want it if you could have it standard. That is why both democrats and GOPeers are in trouble. Trump took all the good causes and wrapped it up into a neat little package with a MAGA bow on it, announced when he came down the escalator.

All this new “empathy” blabbering makes me sick. It’s always selective empathy, usually feigned. The best of men don’t always wear their empathy on their sleeve.

Doris Kearns Goodwin is as much a “historian” as Dan Blather is a “journalist”..... propagandists for the ‘Rat party, always.

Hey Doris, how did you like being LBJ’s mistress, anyway?

Doris Kearns Goodwin, plagiarist and Idiot.

I guess she forgets that Hemingway ended by choking on his shotgun.... not much “resilience” there.....

Doris Kearns Goodwin is so stupid and out of touch...

she thinks the New York Times, Washington Post, every newspaper in the country, NPR, PBS, ABC, NBC, CBS, MSNBC, CNN, and every Hollywood 'star' but two have NOT gotten around to trashing President Trump ... every hour of every day since he won the nomination.

Oh yeah Doris - that's the answer - pile on another few tons of liberal hatred every day ... just in case some citizen hasn't heard it... for 5 minutes.

So the disgraced Doris Kearns Goodwin is still around. I haven’t seen her smirking face (I admit I’m prejudiced against those who always smirk) for a while. I guess she is trying to grasp for attention.

So this Goodwin character is attempting to intellectualize MAGA huh?

Good luck with that. It’s a simple recipe. Pride in America. Pride in our Flag and for which it stands. Pride in our sovereignty and accepting the results of elections (at least within a few months).

In 2002, The Weekly Standard determined that her book The Fitzgeralds and the Kennedys used without attribution numerous phrases and sentences from three other books: Times to Remember, by Rose Kennedy; The Lost Prince, by Hank Searl; and Kathleen Kennedy: Her Life and Times, by Lynne McTaggart.[24] McTaggart remarked, "If somebody takes a third of somebody's book, which is what happened to me, they are lifting out the heart and guts of somebody else's individual expression."[25] Goodwin had previously reached a "private settlement" with McTaggart over the issue. In an article she wrote for Time magazine, she said, "Though my footnotes repeatedly cited Ms. McTaggart's work, I failed to provide quotation marks for phrases that I had taken verbatim... The larger question for those of us who write history is to understand how citation mistakes can happen."[26] In its analysis of the controversy, Slate magazine criticized Goodwin for the aggrieved tone of her explanation, and suggested Goodwin's worst offense was allowing the plagiarism to remain in future editions of the book even after it was brought to her attention.[27]

Slate also reported that there were multiple passages in Goodwin's book on the Roosevelts (No Ordinary Time) that were apparently taken from Joseph Lash's Eleanor and Franklin, Hugh Gregory Gallagher's FDR's Splendid Deception, and other books, although she "scrupulously" footnoted the material. The Los Angeles Times reported similar circumstances concerning her book The Fitzgeralds and the Kennedys.[28][29]

The allegations of plagiarism caused Goodwin to resign from the Pulitzer Prize Board[30] and her position as a regular guest on the PBS NewsHour program.[31]

It’s a good thing to project a confident attitude...

True indeed - and pro-American voters think it imperative of their president. It is quite comparable to one's selection of a heart surgeon, criminal defense attorney or any other who will act on our behalf in very serious matters.

DDK clumsily, but for political necessity, uses criteria that might apply to one's neighbor to one who would so act on our behalf.

She likely swooned at Obama's claim that he was, "not interested in victory", as well as at the actions of others who were willing to compromise with evil on our behalf.

... she proposes to replace one set of personal attacks with another. How about addressing his record, and explaining how your side would do better?

Liberals would lose on the 'being real' tactic you suggest rightwingcrazy... Doris Kearns Goodwin is aware of that... The liberal base (large numbers of poorly educated dependent citizens - and 5% nose-in-the-air white phony 'elites') would NOT be receptive to your recommendations.

Liberals don't have logical discussions... they have EMOTION and SCREAMING and FEAR and SKY IS FALLING and ENDLESS HYSTERICAL BS.

If they did what you suggested they would not have lost the middle-class, workers and flyover... Goodwin is a jerk - she knows WHY she's saying what she's saying... which is part of her creepiness. She's Avenatti in drag...

Doris Kearns Goodwin, Mika, Joe, Chris Matthews, Katy, Chuck and the rest of DC 'polite society' have more in common with Michael Avenatti, Stormy Daniels, and Michael Moore than they have with everyday Americans. White liberal 'elites' have been unmasked - - their souls are stinky green phlegn.
