An Open Letter to Senators Flake, Murkowski and Collins
Vanity

Posted on 10/03/2018 3:09:40 PM PDT by pfflier

I am writing using this forum because I am sure you or your staffs monitor the forums here. I am forced to use this media because your inboxes are full and not accepting new messages, your phone systems is at capacity and the US Mail is simply too slow to get this message to you.

Only the most partisan, the most naive or most vengeful believe that Judge Kavanaugh is not qualified to serve on the Supreme Court of the US. The political theater, used by the democrats to oppose him, is transparently contrived from the shouting at the hearings to having to go back, all the way to high school, to allege inappropriate behavior. The arguments against him, in substance, have risen only to the level of 3rd grade playground spats. Yet, because of your expressed distaste of President Trump, you are aiding and abetting the smearing of a reputation of a very qualified candidate.

The partisan opposition against his confirmation is purely one dimensional based on a radical feminist agenda. Any Supreme Court Justice will face issues representing the entire spectrum of the constitution including protecting of national sovereignty, protection of individual right of persons to practice their religious values or to keep and bear arms. They will also likely review cases involving protection of the citizen's sanctity to vote and a whole host of constitutional issues that no doubt will arise over their term.

It is time for you to support a qualified candidate against childish slander attempts and it is your duty to assure that our Supreme Court is properly staffed independently of the opposition's childish tantrums. It is time for you to consider what is best for our republic.

It is time for you to vote to confirm Judge Kavanaugh to the US Supreme Court.

I am but one voice in the wilderness and now, I have been forced by your actions to finally stand up and to shout.

I would add to this that the truth will come out. I don’t support more delays, but I support continued investigations into what I believe are false allegations so that type of behavior will not be permitted in the future.

If those further investigations somehow prove Judge Kavanaugh was in the wrong he will be forced to resign. However, if, as is more probable, such investigations prove this was all an orchestrated attempt to defame a man for the sole purposes of stifling his ascendancy to the highest court then you as sitting Senators will look foolish for the remainder of your career - which will no doubt be short lived.

Flake is a lost cause. McConnell needs to get the checkbook out for Murkowski and Collins, and just end this the Swamp Way ($$$, Bridge to Nowhere II, III, IV, etc). If those two back Brett, Manchin and Heitkamp will follow.

I read somewhere that McConnell will strip the 2 women of their committee appointments if they scuttle Kavanaugh.

Those 3 are the 3 that needs to be replaced...Collins doesn’t have Maine’s values. Flake is retiring...and truthfully, Goldwater’s corpse could have done better and Murkowski is a bitter person who lost to a better person in the primary.

I agree with your assessment.
There will be no Dem votes unless the GOP gets to 50.
If they get the abortion sisters on board, there may be as many as 4-5 voting yes.
Flake is a no.

Because they are politicians and they live and die on public opinion wherever it is expressed.

“McConnell needs to get the checkbook out for Murkowski and Collins, “

Or threaten to take the entire checkbook away and give it to someone to primary them. If he has any character, he has to make it clear that he would rather be minority leader or even a retired Senator than be a majority leader of a faithless party. But I don’t know if he has that in him.

EVERY SINGLE one of these Senators need to think about this for a LONG minute:

WHAT IF one of their family members was accused like
Kavanaugh has been accused?

A father-—a brother—an uncle—a son—a son in law-—a close friend—a colleague—someone who is close to you & the media tears you & your family apart over it all........

Would you stand by quietly?

Would you think it was OK?

Would you support your family member wholeheartedly?

Would you think it was over the top to put one of YOUR family members into the HOT SEAT YOU so gladly put Judge Kavanaugh????

It is well past time that every single politician in the country take another look at their behavior & how ANY member of their family could be attacked in the same way.

Disgusting as it was when the politicians gave Bill Clinton a pass when the evidence & victims were numerous......but you all had better look long & hard into the MIRROR at your own house.

My only quibble with your otherwise excellent letter is this; “The partisan opposition against his confirmation is purely one dimensional based on a radical feminist agenda.” I (blush) would rather put that as “The partisan opposition against his confirmation is purely [a] one dimensional [fraud] based on a radical feminist agenda.

For me it is their EXCUSE, their opposition was innate from the get-go, anybody suitable to Trump was a no-go to them, the LEFTist Socialists of the modern Democrat Party. The FemiNazi excuses just plays to their base but when Trump nominates a conservative woman, they will still find something! Power, not logic, is their MO!

As for the actual thrust and honesty of this letter, sign me up and in! Well put!

I agree with you. The thing I would add to the OP is to stress the importance of a most sacred principle of our system: the Presumption of Innocence!

The most dangerous aspect of this circus has been the undermining of that principle and ideal, and the precedent that it would set if allowed to prevail.

I don’t agree that the point of this charade - or the outcome of it - is or would be ‘one dimensional’ at all. If allowed to stand, it will strike at the very heart of our founding principles and ultimately destroy us as the Republic that the Founders intended us to be.
