As the Senate Judicial Committee gathered to vote Friday afternoon to move Judge Kavanaugh’s nomination for a vote in the Senate, word trickled out that Democrat Senator Joe Donnelly of Indiana was a no vote on Kavanaugh’s nomination. Donnelly is in a tough re-election race back home and Republicans hope to separate him from the herd of Democrats in lock-step opposition Judge Kavanaugh.
As we all know now, Senator Jeff Flake decided to lob a last-minute bomb into the committee’s proceedings by holding his yes vote hostage to a demand that the FBI investigate Dr. Christine Blasey Ford’s allegations. He put a time limit of no longer than a week for the delay. Republicans were forced to go along in order to have the votes to move the process out of the committee and onto the Senate floor.
But, a late afternoon headline in a northwest Indiana newspaper shines a glimmer of a doubt on Senator Donnelly’s commitment to a no vote. He told the newspaper’s editorial board that now he’s willing to wait for the FBI’s report before making a final decision. In other words, Donnelly has moved from a no vote to a maybe.

More theater. There will be zero Dem votes for Kavanaugh unless the GOP has the votes. Then some Dems will pile on. Otherwise, none will dare to be the confirming vote. Schumer would kill them, politically.

Wasn’t that supposedly the point of the renewed investigation
to help some I know he was not one of them but to make people feel comfortable in confirming Judge Kavanaugh?
The dems never, ever want him confirmed.
If he says YES now..by weeks end he will change it to a NO..once some left wing loons start screaming at him, he will poop his pants and change his mind
I believe that there is more evidence that she was part of a plot to derail the nomination than there is that her story is true.

Donnelly is history if he votes no, and he damn well knows it.

Early on, I had heard and people posted info about Christine Ford being a politically active Democrat.
I know her entire internet presence has been scrubbed, so it’s hard for us to verify any of this now.
But I wish our softball woman DA at the hearings, had asked Christine Ford about political motives for wanting to derail this nomination. She claimed to be an independent person. I wish our DA had gotten into the “why” of why she thought it was so important to allegedly be “helpful” to the committee evaluation of Supreme Court nominees.
Who does that sort of thing, unless you are some sort of political activist?
Unfortunately our DA didn’t get deeply into some key areas.

After seeing how DJT savages Manchin tonight in WVa Donnelly might have second thoughts about falling upon his sword for Schumer and Feinstein.
As well are many of the other Dem Senators in Trump swing states.
Their decision comes down to this.......am I willing to lose my seat over a flimsy case and what could be mistaken identity?
What they say will happen means zilch. After Flakes’ 180, I only want to know what the actual vote is.

Donnelly will ONLY vote FOR Kavanaugh if the Republicans have the votes to confirm him. THEN and only then will Schumer free the four Ds with tough races to vote for Kavanaugh. If the confirmation is contingent on even one D, none will be allowed to break ranks.
Agree. I also do not think her testimony on Thursday was compelling as we keep hearing by the MSM President Trump also said it on the other hand I found Brett Kavanaugh very compelling.
If that had been a trial and I was one of the Jurors I would not have been on her side at all.
I believe Ford to be lying and that she is just playing a part in a play. I also do not think that ever happened to her by someone else. I think it is all fake.
