Today my son brought up that they're having a "Peace Day" "celebration" tomorrow at school with stations to do things at. Such as "painting rocks with peace signs" and origami (wanted to do "peace" sign but wouldn't work he thinks). I.e., looks like they're pushing the stupid UN idea and of course, the hippie norm.

What is a parent to tell a child in such short notice? We tell him to be polite while maybe resisting what they want (perhaps painting a cross rather than hippie symbol - how can a Catholic school object?). But how do you explain how to handle those things when it's pushed upon them?
BTW, we have no idea if this is his grade only (i.e., we heard his social studies teacher had talked about it), middle school only, or the whole school. None of this was done before, when he was in the lower "primary" school. Hell, we never HEARD of "peace day" (i.e., UN nonsense) until this. I have to wonder if it's being pushed more now that the long-time leader of the school, a nun from the original order that ran the school, died suddenly near the end of last year. Not saying she would object (she went in for alot of that "nice-sounding" stuff), but maybe?

Some people find peace in Christ. If he is a Christian, he could profess his faith in Christ, the giver of peace?

Yes, we even mentioned the “bumper sticker” slogans.
“No Jesus, No Peace/Know Jesus, Know Peace”.
I say he should put it that way.
Instead of going over to the heathen (never mind commie-based) hippie culture.

Wish I still had my “Coexist?” BS. Someone stole it off my car years ago and I can’t find the same design. It’s great.

“Peace is the prize” Tell him to write that slogan and about how Trump is ending a 70+ year war. PITP!

I kinda like that first one.
I had a white one that definitely included the burning towers.
I’m also sure I’ve seen parodies of this nonsense “coexist” that spell out “communist” instead!

Call the school and tell them you send your son to school to learn reading, writing, and arithmetic.

Son's school wants to do "Peace Day" Wouldn't that be the Sabbath? Doesn't it happen every week, just not on a school day?

Other suggestions. PTS, peace through strength.
Peace really is a good thing as long as it’s not gained by surrender.

looks like they're pushing the stupid UN idea "Observe good faith and justice towards all nations; cultivate peace and harmony with all." - George Washington's Farewell Address
To: CJ Wolf
We discussed that, especially since we are huge George Washington fans.
