I wonder how much it costs to feed, educate, house, clothe, jail, deport, and give healthcare to illegal aliens here in the U.S. over a five year period?

Our military is very dependent on space based satellites for Intel, targeting and communication. These assets must be protected least we dramatically reduce the effectiveness of the soldier on the ground, the pilot in the plane and the sailor on the ship.
A few billion is cheap to maintain an effective fighting force with the a fore mentioned, Intel, targeting and communication.
The train to nowhere in Calif. is expected cost well over $100 billion and never be completed and will not be high speed.
The amount of NASA money Obama budgeted for Muslim outreach oughta cover it just nicely.
That is actually very cheap.
We have already “spent” over $30 billion on Puerto Rico

I would expect that consolidation of its functions into a single military branch would eliminate redundancies that might add up to orders of magnitude more than $13B.
There’s not going to be much of any “new” stuff. The formation of the Space Force is mostly just administratively transferring programs and people from various other places into the Space Command.
