Is there any point in the conformation hearings? It looks like each senator made up his mind on how to vote before the hearings started. I don’t think anything Mr. Kavanaugh says will change the mind of Cory Booker or Kamala Harris.
That’s exactly how Chairman Grassley views it. Since minds are made up, it’s pointless to prolong the ordeal by dredging up more information. The committee vote and whole Senate vote will go as scheduled.
