For US President Donald Trump and some of his allies, the idea that there's a liberal bias in tech produces the same gut reaction as gun control and immigration.
The news website Axios reported Thursday that Trump was not about to back down in his war on Google and other firms, with one unnamed source calling it "an issue that's here to stay."
Silicon Valley seems resigned to the long fight. "There will be no fixing this," a tech executive told The New York Times.
President Donald Trump and his allies are getting ready for a long fight with America's tech giants.
That's according to the news website Axios, which says it has spoken with several of Trump's allies about his escalating attack on companies including Google and Twitter.
One source told the website that the idea these platforms contained liberal bias was getting conservatives as exercised as the gun-control debate and immigration issues.
"It's risen to the level of being an emotional or gut issue with conservatives, like guns/immigration," an unnamed Trump operative told Axios. "It's an issue that's here to stay."
Trump's eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., piled on with a similar sentiment, saying he didn't think the issue was "going away" or "changing." He added that he would support the creation of a conservative social network meant to rival Facebook....

Hello media.
We hired Trump and fired him up.
Clearly what big Tech needs is a massive dose of federal regulation. Leftists can hardly complain since that’s what they always advocate.
Strip them of section 320 protection. Bring anti trust actions against Google, Facebook, Twitter and Amazon. Maybe a favorable court ruling about them being a digital “town square” and thus banned from regulating speech.
The Bully Pulpit...
“Trump is said to be firing up conservatives with his claims of bias in big tech....”
Americans need to break the backs of these big, anti-American electron oligarchs.
Sure there is.
Stop being dicks.
Ruinous fines I’ll accept. Stop screwing with the American people.
It’s true, and not a claim. Your use of the word “claims” is proof of what Trump said.
BusinessStuff == BS
Yahoo! frequently either censors me or allows others to respond to my posts but I have no way of rebuttal.
It's a Very Good Thing when Barack Obama, Bernie Sanders, and Hillary Clinton "fire up" their voters and supporters.
Yup. We actually dont ‘REALLY’ need an alternative. Just break-up Google and Instagram and Twitter, thus treating it as a regulated company.
I think too many ignorant people think that computers, cellphones, TV, etc., are ordained by God to be the know all and tell all of the universe.
A computer only knows anything because a human, or humans, put the info in, and human(s) told it how to present it to other humans.
Same with cellphones.
Movies are made-up stories, acted out by reality-voided people wrapped around an ego.
Reality is the only thing that counts, the rest is entertainment.
Too much of anything is dangerous.
when you “google” something, it only tells you what people have programmed it to tell you, based on your query/question.
Snopes? A couple operating from their kitchen table? What gives them the credentials to decide if something is true, or not?
Take it all with a grain of sand...it’s what silicon diodes are made from.
I’m glad that Trump is doing this. But conservatives calling for new regulations are acting like butt-hurt libs. There’s a whole wide internet out there. Create your own damn search engine or social media site.
I am indeed fired up be cause we have a leader who fights!!!
Trump is brilliant. He is isolating these issues, bringing them into context for conservatives, and defining the Republican platform for the midterms.
The Tech Exec wins the "Stupidest Statement of the Day" award.
Yes, and his proof was a very simple comparison of Obama’s inauguration address and his. It’s a clear-cut bias. Can’t be argued with. It was a very nice opening salvo in the war to have fair social media.
And once we get fairness solved, the next battleground is going to be privacy.

The People are tired of the oligarchs having it both ways. They claim that they can not be sued for the content of others posting on their services because that is beyond their control. But then turn around and ban/expel those that disagree with their views.
You cant have it both ways.
