Lower-wage retail jobs in particular were among the big gainers as a tighter labor market forced employers to shell out a bit more.

After a slow start to 2018 on the pay-raise front, workers in the United States are starting to benefit from the strong economy: Wages across all jobs climbed by 2.2% year over year in July, according to data provided by Glassdoor.

I was trying to be helpful.

I have been one of the most passionate and vocal critics of massive legal and illegal immigration on Free Republic since George Bush and John McCain tried to shove Amnesty down our throats in 2005.

Personal stories like yours should be heavily publicized, especially since the allegedly anti-immigrant Donald Trump supports a DACA Amnesty, and he hypocritically allowed a Catch-and-Release border policy for the first 15 months of his administration at the same time he was campaigning for a Border Wall.

At my old job we didn’t get raises for 5 out of 7 years. This was during Obama. Only when construction started coming back and the worker shortage was apparent did they panic and started giving raises. I got quite a few before I left then decided to go to another company entirely that paid better.
