I don’t think Trump would be at home with much of what the Libertarian party stands for.

He has 90% approval with Republicans. He’s already taken over the party.

Then the GOPe will immediately side with the rats and begin impeachment proceedings.

I’ve seen Trump, from day one, as an independent running as a Republican only because the only chance he had at winning would be as a member of one of the two parties. And as an independent myself, I’ve never seen him as a Republican. He’s a RINO - but in the GOOD way. :)

But I don’t know if he would increase his odds if he became a libertarian, though I’d love to see it happen.

You’d hand the Dems the election. NO.

Better fit would be the Veterans Party of America.

They fit more of the mold that Trump and his team want to see. The Dems and GOP-e should politically die a nasty death.

Stop the day drinking. It’s bad for your health and it results in ridiculous vanities like this.

Libertarian? Jeez!

The GOP is the party of Lincoln, the party of Reagan, the party of Eisenhower and Coolidge.

The Libertarian Party is the party of an unbroken line of third-party whining losers, whose only purpose in life is to aid in the election of Democrats.

I don’t think it is time to jump onto that sinking rowboat.

The Libertarian Party is a joke and utterly uninterested in participating in the culture war for the soul of this country, and in fact is more an enemy in that fight than an ally.

No one who is interested in the perservation of the United States as a nation should have anything to do with that outfit.

(The libertarian ideology is a different matter).

Back in the day, this was called “reverse psychology.” The enemy using reverse psychology promoting an agenda doomed to fail. The idea is to destroy the opponents morale and create confusion and division, straight out of the rules in Cultural Marxism to destroy our U.S. Constitution and American Capitalism.

Forming a NEW party called The Constituion party was proposed- ALSO a good idea.

Anything to get away from the eGOP and swamp dwellers.

I don’t think the D *OR* the R would have many members left if Trump did this - because both of the two major parties are part of the corruptocracy.

I think he would attract a good portion of both parties.

If Trump is attractive to libertarians (and I believe he is), switching isn’t necessary.

He DEFINITELY should seek and run as a libertarian in any state which allows “fusion” candidates. That is, a few states, like New York, allow various parties to nominate the same candidate. So you can choose whether to vote for Trump, The Conservative Party nominee, or Trump, the Republican Party nominee... and either way, your vote goes to President Trump. (I use Conservative Party in this example, because AFAIK, the Libertarian Party of NY ran a different candidate.)

But in most states, there’s a HUGE chance that yes, the GOP-e candidate would finish third, and Trump would finish 2nd, and the neosoviet candidate wins 1st and gets the presidency. Can’t risk it.

The Libertarian Party platform doesn’t include strict immigration standards and a border wall.

Won’t fly with Trump.

The vote would be split, as the republicans nominate a candidate and there are a lot of GOP senators up for reelection in 2020. Your scenario is a disaster. The dem would be easily elected. That will show them, but the joke is really on you. Not to mention the libertarians have zero infrastructure.

Yeah, great idea! Split the Center Right into two or more parts to take on the Left.

Please, refrain from this foolish thinking. Trump has effectively taken over the Republican Party. Why would he want to give it back?

“Relegate the eGOP to third-party status overnight.”

Yeah, the third party that would split the election enough so that the Democrats would win. Great plan.
