The verdict came in this afternoon from the deliberations of the jury following the trial of FBI Hostage Rescue Team Agent W. Joseph Astarita.
ASTARITA WAS FOUND NOT GUILTY ON ALL THREE COUNTS AFTER SOME SIX HOURS OF DELIBERATIONS....

"Reasonable Doubt" was planted in the jury, but civil lawsuits on tap in connection with the shooting were fueled by the dueling testimony of Oregon police and FBI witnesses dissing the actions of the each other that day.

What a farce of a trial....
As we have seen, the process itself is a punishment.
I hate hate hate this.
However:
If we insist on acquittal verdicts being permanent, complete vindications for those on our side, we MUST accept them for those on the other side, even if we, non-participants in the trial, are viscerally certain of our “enemy’s” guilt.
For this reason, when OJ’s murder trial ended in an acquittal, though I personally believed he did it, I accepted the verdict and considered the subsequent civil trial a monstrous injustice.
Perhaps I’m alone.
That’s OK, I’ve been alone before.
