The Democratic partys projected blue wave in the November midterm elections seems like a pipe dream now, after last nights special election in Ohios 12th Congressional District. Sorry, but Ohio stays red:

Its worth mentioning that it was a very, but very close race in Ohio, yet Trump-backed Troy Balderson managed to emerge victorious in a dramatic fight over a vacant House seat during yesterdays special election. Republican State Senator Troy Balderson will now take over a House seat previously held by Republican Pat Tiberi, who resigned back in January, and took another job in the private sector.

How much effort did the dems put in to this?
That is the question
Probably a LOT, but let’s not rest on our laurels.
(but yeah, it’s looking good)
dems will only get more desperate, and do and say even more stupid things.
i see a couple of problems for our side in November. one is that DJT is not on the ballot so a bunch of indies and dems who voted for him may not show up. the other thing is that hillary is not on the ballot either. a lot of indies who voted for the President did so because they hated hillary...they may be willing to fall back into their old habits and vote dem this time around.
We can’t say Balderson wins until the dems stop filling out absentee and provisional ballots. I may have missed it, but I don’t think Ds have conceded and told the workers wandering through graveyards and filling out absentee ballots to go home.
From what I have read they put a lot of effort and money into this race. That is why the media was focused on it.
I think the term Blow your wad applies
That is the question
A lot more than the Republicans did. The question now is which side will put more effort into November?
The race is still too close to call, with 3,435 provisional ballots that have yet to be counted. Ohio law calls for an automatic recount if the two candidates are ultimately separated by less than half a percentage point.
Troy Balderson Republican 101,574 50.2%
Danny OConnor Democrat - 99,820 49.3%
With the demo-fraud that is rife in this country’s elections coast to coast, that means Balderson won by double digits.
For those saying that the GOP turnout was weak, of course it was weak, the same two candidates are going to face off again in 3 months..most Republicans wait til November to vote for the “Big races.” Luckily just enough came out to vote to make a difference in this race but in November it won’t be even close
I would hope that Kasich keeps quiet rather than campaign against a fellow Pubbie.
This article doesn’t really say anything. I just hope there’s more participation by the Republicans in November.
Everyone better be alarmed and vote. Ohio 12 has more registered R’s than D’s and has voted about R+12 in the last two presidential cycles. Registered D’s had about a 50% higher turnout than the R’s. R’s= low energy.
This.
“Outside Republican groups heavily outspent Democrats in the race by a more than five to one margin, hoping to blunt any momentum O’Connor had. “
We can’t spend five to one in every single seat.
IMHO...this was a set-up between Democrats & Republican, Governor, the insane, John Kasich. The plan was to have O’Connor campaign like a “Republican Moderate”, get out every single Democrat vote, have John Kasich throw his false support to Republican, Troy Balderson, and, then at the last minute have Kasich, left-handed, turn on Balderson causing him to lose Republican votes, which would either go to O’connor or not vote at all.
The Trump GOP team smelled a rat at the last minute, and Trump flew into Dodge City to save the day. The Dems were filled with joy...but ended up crying with tears. Kasich, he has had his last hurrah...Satan & Hell await his arrival some years down the road.
Part of the Republican problem is their weak knee, no guts, no fire, no MoJo no backbone, candidates. We need more Jim Jordans, John James, etc.
.....heh...good one......
Trump campaigning in the district for the winners sealed the deal. This is perfect as it shows the “trailer” effect, are you hooked up to the one who is leading the country or just another RINO
Think about it, anyone posturing that the Dems have any kind of real message is whistling past the graveyard
JMHO but I stand by it
