How Trump Baffles RINOs and Terrifies Democrats
LifeZette ^ | 2 August 2018 | Mark Tapscott

President Donald Trump’s most powerful weapon is what makes him Big Government Democrats’ worst nightmare and the trait that most baffles Establishment Republicans who don't have it.

....

(quoting Bill Hobbs' Facebook essay) .... "Donald Trump instinctively knows almost immediately where his opponent's jugular vein is, and that is where he attacks, and that is where he exerts the most pressure and the most leverage to get the best deal."

"For example, in the primary, Jeb Bush was the odds-on favorite to win. He had the money, the Establishment, the résumé, and the name. All of the other candidates tried to attack him on his record and his ties to the Establishment, and all of them failed. Except Trump."

"Trump didn't attack him on any of that. He simply noticed that voters wanted action, and that Jeb Bush was a very slow, deliberate, plodding sort, and labeled him 'Low Energy Jeb,' and it was over. Bush's jugular vein was crushed."

"Fast-forward to last week, when Trump is negotiating with the head of the European Union. Having threatened the EU with high tariffs, to get better leverage in trade negotiations, Trump sat down with the head of the EU and hammered out a decent first-step deal."

"The most important part of that deal? It got little notice by the press. It was the EU's commitment to a large increase in purchases of liquid natural gas from the U.S. This has nothing to do with the EU's 'jugular vein,' by the way."

"This was all about Russia. Russia is, basically, a well-armed gas station. Without high profits from the sale of oil and natural gas, Russia's economy is nothing. And so, with his trade deal with the head of the EU, Trump went right for Russia’s jugular. He said overly nice things to Putin in Helsinki, then went back to Washington and, through his EU deal, stomped on Russia's throat."

....

"But China’s economic jugular vein is their reliance on exports, with the U.S. being their largest customer. Meanwhile, the U.S. exports very little, comparatively, to China. Simply put, they can't win a trade war with the U.S. We slap big tariffs on all their exports, they respond in kind, and it's their economy that crashes, not ours."

"And they know that. And Trump knows that. He knows what their jugular vein is, and he's about to stomp on it. Trade wars are bad. People on both sides get hurt. But in the end, it will be China that loses, and it will be China that opens its doors to more U.S. exports, and it will be the U.S. that wins."

....

#2: "Finally someone TRUTHFULL in politics!!"

When President Trump delivers a speech he's not reading from a script. He speaks from the heart. It's like talking with a family member.

Fake news, and an extremely poor (on purpose) analysis.

What destroyed ¡YEB! more than anything else was his open borders stance. Common Core was a distant second.

The low energy thing was just kicking the maimed intellectual cripple (please clap) while he was down and throwing an epileptic fit.

I am going to suggest that the purpose for writing this dreck is to deflect attention from the border and the illegals with a big shiny nothing.

This is fluff.

Good one, Sarcasm. Art of the Deal -- Principle 9 -- is another word for "go for the jugular".

This used to be called ‘the pursuit of the national interest’. Cardinal Richelieu somewhere is nodding in approval.

# 10. Deliver Goods. If you don't deliver the goods, people will eventually catch on.

Every four years candidates from both parties would lie and one would get elected and fail to deliver. Enough people finally noticed. President Trump, on the other hand, has delivered. And that's what's so unsettling to Democrats and establishment Republicans.

The rally in Florida the other day. He brings up Bill Nelson. Did anyone else see this?

No other politician would say what Trump said about Nelson. He said something on the order of:

“You know since I’ve been in Washington, I’ve noticed you don’t see Bill Nelson, except 6 months before it’s time for an election. The guy is another do nothing.”

Then he listed how he voted against tax cuts, etc. etc.

Trade wars are bad. People on both sides get hurt.

Not sure about that. A lot of winners here too, like the American work force!

“I am going to suggest that the purpose for writing this dreck is to deflect attention from the border and the illegals with a big shiny nothing.”

The analysis was spot on - Trump knows where the jugular is - and all of the examples were apt, including the JEB! ‘low energy’ example.

However, if you need to see everything as a distraction from the single issue of border security, I’ll throw you a bone:

Border security was the Democrat’s jugular and Trump went for it first thing.

By attacking the issue of illegal immigration via the Mexican border, and referring to the ‘bad hombres’ crossing - the drug dealers, the rapists, the gang members and other criminals - Trump set a trap for Democrats: he knew they could not resist the chance to call him a racist and claim the moral high ground as the protectors of brown people.

He knew the Democrats would double down with sanctuary cities, anti ICE, and push for zero borders. In so doing, Trump tricked the Democrats into taking position after position that would offend American workers. He maneuvered Hillary Clinton into calling rural American working class “deplorables”. He maneuvered her into slandering coal miners. He said “American First” and MAGA knowing the Democrats would foolishly counter it with “America Last” and “What was so great about America?. Trump has driven a wedge between the Democrats and rural, working class, patriotic Americans.

The Democrat’s jugular is the fact that they are ashamed of America - they have only contempt for rural and working class America - it took Trump about ten seconds to find it - and they’ve been bleeding out ever since.

The mid terms should favor the Demcrats - the party not in the White House - but it’s increasingly looking like the ‘blue wave’ is red. The Democrat party is hemorrhaging.
