The state here in California blocks building outside where they want people to live. No mass housing developments.
Porter Ranch near Los Angeles took 20+ years to get approval for just 3,000 homes plus a shopping and some commercial buildings. Their are 18 million people in LA and Orange county and the San Fernando valley.
20+ years for one project!!
No. It’s just a smaller liability ... and a more practical one in many respects.
I have said for years now, that younger people, especially don’t know how to manage their money.
The three biggest money drains that they could cut back are
3. cable bill
2. phone bill
1. eating out all the time
Those three things can easily eat up over 1/3 or more or many of the younger people I work with, salary.
Get a cheaper cable plan (most I know pay almost $200 a month)
Get a cheaper phone plan (most I know pay almost $200 a month)
Stop eating fast food twice a day!
I switched to a Tracfone 3 years ago and now I pay $100 a year for my phone service.
These are not younger people. All over 60 and the one that called 2 weeks ago is gonna no to be 70 next month.
#53 those teachers must be spending too much on other things.
No need to get another job, just cut back on the cable and phone and the car payments. Those 3 items alone can cost a fortune.
Free tv, phone plan for $60 for 2, buy used car outright.
They could cut $400 a month and more for the 3 items.
My wife works in a union job and makes good money. I am amazed at how many of the people there who are over 50, are just flat broke.
Agreed. People pay WAY too much for entertainment. And then these smart phones they have to replace every other year, that they carry around and stare into every blessed minute, I don’t even understand it.
Tracfone for the win! I pay less than $20 a month for cell service for both myself and my teenage son. Once in a while I will top up on our data service, at $10 a gigabyte. We are both minimal users, no need to pay top dollar for a service that is used minimally.
