A dashcam video of the car chase with the man who began the Trader Joe's Silverlake standoff in which I was a hostage.
Driver of the police car was wearing video. Perp shoots at them inmmediately. Not perp shoots out his rear window!
Trader Joe’s Silverlake is on HYPERION.
That is where the shoot out happens!
Given this video, I now wonder if the two shoots right near me were from the officers ... or the perp.
These officers would have to have been the ones who inadvertently shot the young female .... bless her soul.

We know the police shot the female.
I was trying to figure if the shots that came inside the store were his or the police. Increasingly looking like police.
Film almost makes it look like the officer driving can shoot by honking his horn, :-D

Yup, you’re right. And the angle makes it clear, the bullets that grazed over are heads were from the officers.

Yeah, but I now realize I was much more likely too have died from the first two shots that whizzed by me! Those of the officers.

Looks like they just jumped out of their cars and started shooting in the general direction of the perp. They were too far away to get a bead on him with a pistol. They were more likely in a scenario like that to hit a bystander than the perp. Which they did.
And the two bullets that whizzed by me were from the LAPD ...not the “bad guy”. Then I spent =the next 3 hours stand, sitting, moving around according tho his whims.
He was drinking TJ’s Jim Beam,,,, could we not have have been snacking on TJ goodies at the same time?!!!
Thank God you came out of it ok, but unfortunately the police had the opportunity to stop this before it ever began. And God rest the soul of the innocent.
Their “tools” are so restricted nowadays, with so much worry and concern for the “perp’s” well being. That guy should have been run off the road and run into a light standard/power pole, but the LE officer has been trained to protect the perp as much as he has been trained to protect bystanders, because of political correctness.
I am truly sorry you experienced what you did.
I don’t know you, but I love you, and have all the confidence in the world that you are emotionally strong enough to deal with the unfortunate circumstances you experienced.
