If Sessions and Horowitz really do have an end game, it’s time to get to it

Today’s Campaign Update (Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Hollywood continues its slow death spiral. – Actress Scarlett Johansson became the latest victim in the left’s war on women on Friday, and hardly anyone noticed. Johansson had been cast to play a transgender character in a film tentatively titled “Rub and Tug” which had been lined up to begin filming in 2019. In taking the role, Johansson would have added her name to a long list of heterosexual actors who have played such roles in movies.

But the radical left LGBTQ movement decided to make an example of Johansson, taking to social media to protest the fact that the role had not been awarded to an actual transgender person. The answer why is obvious to any thinking person: Ms. Johansson is a name celebrity whose presence in the film would help ensure it would be profitable. This is not exactly rocket science – it’s how the movie business works.

Without a name actress who would draw crowds to theaters in the role, it is in fact unlikely the movie will even be made. But the activists would rather kill he film than see this extremely leftist actress get the role.

So how far are the activists willing to take this particular principle? Will they demand the recasting of the role of the gay character Cam Tucker in the sitcom “Modern Family,” which has been hilariously played by heterosexual actor Eric Stonestreet since 2009? And will they ultimately, for authenticy’s sake, demand that all hetero roles be played by non-gay actors? If not, why not, other than the obvious answer that it would mean that certain prominent closeted actors would never work again?

While transgender actors complain that they can’t even get auditions to play heterosexual roles, killing film projects like this one seems like a pretty poor way of increasing their chances. In announcing her withdrawal from the role, Ms. Johansson said “According to GLAAD, LGBTQ+ characters dropped 40% in 2017 from the previous year, with no representation of trans characters in any major studio release.” Gosh, I wonder why?

How does Rod Rosenstein still have his job, Part 9,453. – Infamous girlfriend of FBI Super Duper Agent and apparent disciple of Satan Peter Strzok, Lisa Page, was grilled behind closed doors in a deposition by the House Judiciary Committee on Friday. Apparently, she offered up Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein as one of her sacrifices, at least if this tweet from Congressman Mark Meadows is accurate:

Mark Meadows ✔ @RepMarkMeadows Remarkably, we learned new information today suggesting the DOJ had not notified Lisa Page of Congress' outstanding interview requests for over 7 months now. The DOJ/FBI appear to be continuing their efforts to keep material facts, and perhaps even witnesses, from Congress.

5:25 PM - Jul 13, 2018 16.4K 10.5K people are talking about this Twitter Ads info and privacy Back story: On January 4, House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes reached an agreement that DOJ and the FBI would provide seven witnesses in the coming weeks to testify before Nunes’ Committee. Of course, Rosenstein also laughably committed in this deal to provide the Intel Committee access to “all” documents relevant to its investigation, a commitment on which the Deputy AG has continued to stonewall.

Well, it turns out that Rosenstein also had no intention of providing the agreed-to witnesses, at least if Meadows’ tweet is accurate. Which is no surprise, given that Rosenstein’s strategy all along has obviously been to keep the congressional investigations at bay until the mid-term elections have come and gone in the hopes that the Democrats will win control of the House, allowing Democrat committee chairmen to kill the investigations entirely. Which they will do, make no mistake about it.

Meanwhile, reports cropped up again on Friday that Meadows and fellow Freedom Caucus leader Jim Jordan are leading an effort to submit impeachment filings on Rosenstein as soon as next week. If such an effort had the buy-in from Speaker Paul Ryan, it would be meaningful, but without Ryan’s support and commitment to whip the vote in its favor, it’s just one more futile gesture by members of the feckless and toothless Republican House majority.

You could see in their body language and facial expressions during their recent testimonies before the House Judiciary Committee that both Rosenstein and Strzok believe they are above the law and completely safe from any punitive action related to their behavior.

There are two competing bodies of thought that would explain these two apparently bad actors’ behavior and attitudes:

- Rosenstein has been working diligently behind the scenes with AG Jeff Sessions and DOJ IG Michael Horowitz to get at the truth – with Strzok as a cooperating witness who has been given immunity – and are planning to unleash hell at the real bad actors once the final Horowitz report becomes public, all with President Trump’s full knowledge and cooperation; or

- Rosenstein and Strzok know that Sessions is hopelessly corrupt or compromised and will never take any action against them, meaning this ongoing farce will just continue for another 2 or 6 years, until a new president can come into office and cover it all up. I have wanted to believe scenario #1 above, and have even bought into it in some instances because it has seemed to make sense. But the longer this all lingers on and the more of Rosenstein’s stonewalling and outright deception become publicly revealed, the less probable that first line of thought appears to become.

The news on Thursday that Strzok still has his FBI security clearances in place two weeks after Sessions publicly claimed they had been revoked doesn’t help much, either.

The bottom line is this: If Sessions, Rosenstein, Horowitz and President Trump truly have been executing some grand Machiavellian scheme to ultimately bring all the Obama-era bad actors to justice, they’d better get to the end game very quickly. Because if you’re in danger of losing people like me, you’re in danger of losing everything.

Just another day in this crap has gone on long enough America.

That is all.

You’re off your meds on apparently on illegal drugs if you really believe what you wrote. Sessions isn’t doing $hit except to cover his ass and avoid confrontation. All he wants is to hold the title of “Attorney General of the United States”. That’s all he’s wanted since he got rejected years ago as a federal judge appointee.

You are going to worry yourself into an early grave when it is all going the right way in spite of all your wringing of hands.

I’m not worrying about anything. I’m saying there is no secret plan about anything. The deep state has the ball and only has to run out the clock. It’s just normal business in DC.

Then you are saying it is all lost. So go for impeaching Trump since he an incompetent wimp. That way you can get some satisfaction for a little while before the Democrats resume their march to Utopia.

I said nothing about impeachment. All I see is exactly what President Trumph pointed out in his campaign...”the system is rigged”. Time will tell if the majority recgonize that it’s rigged. Sessions, Rosenstein, Mueller and the rest are partners in the rigging of the system. They don’t want it fixed is why they oppose President Trumph.

Trump is aware of all that and is using it. You simply have no patience and needed to see Sessions go roaring into office clapping all the miscreants in jail. It doesn't work that way. These people have real power. Had Trump/Sessions gone full bore right off the bat Trump would already be impeached and Pence would be taking the arrows now or already gone with Trump. Look what has been accomplished. For one the Republican opposition that would have impeached him as their first choice of business are more and more getting on the train and Rosenstein & co. are making themselves look like the villains they are. They are hanging themselves but it takes a bit more time than impatient people can stand.
You start with the assumption that Trump cannot do the job. You implied it heavily in your last comment. If you are right then there is nothing to be done but get the hell out of the country or resolve to take a couple of them with you when they come to your door. Me, I trust Trump. I have seen his "stupid" remarks and vulgar speech win the little battles over and over again. He doesn't lose. He knows better how to do this than anyone else out there. It does no good to blame him or his choices for for perceived failures. There is no one who can do it better.

The Problem Is <-interesting short video.

I didn’t imply anything...you inferred that I thought Trump couldn’t do the job. The only thing I’ll say about that is if Trump is able to do it, it will be in spite of Sessions and not with his help. Sessions is only out for himself and to hold the title of his office. He’s not aware if Strozk has or doesn’t have a security clearance at this time. He’s either clueless or a liar like the rest of the powers in the DoJ...I personally think he’s clueless.

As I said, you think Trump is incompetent. That is the only reason he wouldn’n’t fire the wimp you think Sessions is.

Their end game is to put Trump and his entire family in prison for 400 years.

You imply pretty loudly. It is if you say A you must say B or your thinking is bifurcated and you are holding two incompatible thoughts at the same time. Bi Q, I got no time for Q games.

“The bottom line is this: If Sessions, Rosenstein, Horowitz and President Trump truly have been executing some grand Machiavellian scheme to ultimately bring all the Obama-era bad actors to justice, they’d better get to the end game very quickly. Because if you’re in danger of losing people like me, yo.”

You say there are two schools of thought to explain Sessions’ inaction: either Sessions has a grand plan or he is compromised.

I say there is a third possibility - that the premise of Sessions’ inaction is faulty.

What if Trump decided early on that he (and Sessions) should NOT make it their mission to “bring all the Obama-era bad actors to justice”?

What if Trump decided early on to measure success in other ways, like regulatory and tax reform, renegotiating lousy trade deals and defense treaties, placing constitutional conservatives on the courts, securing the borders, reforming energy policy, disenfranchising corrupt cheap labor lobbies, discrediting the Left’s MSM and Hollywood political correctness propaganda machines... [I could go on listing Trump’s way-beyond-wildest-dreams-successes, but you get the point].

What if bringing all the Obama-era bad actors to justice is just not that important to Trump? What if he’d rather focus on positive change for the future -MAGA? What if he considers the agenda of punishing Democrats backward-looking, negative and politically unwise?

You might not like it, but you have to admit it would explain a lot. Trump made us all very happy with his “because you’d be in jail” debate zinger, but he sure doesn’t show any tangible sign of carrying out that threat - not even close.

I think doing so would be very bad politics. Voters didn’t reward Republicans for going after Clinton, and they won’t reward Democrats for trying to impeach Trump. Voters want positive change and an end to corruption, but they mostly don’t attempts to criminalize politics.

You and me would love to see Demcrats serve time for their crimes, by we are a minority - face it - Trump is wise to stay away from anything that looks like political retribution.

Trump is doing great with his positive agenda and the people are responding favorably. Trump is headed for a reelection landslide and the democrats are self-destructing before our very eyes. Why mess with success by trying to throw his political enemies in jail, when there is a very real risk it would put him in a bad light?

Wouldn’t it reinforce every fear the Left raised about Trump?

I think Trump has no intention of attempting to throw Obama-era bad actors in jail, and THAT is why Sessions is not pursuing that agenda, and THAT is why Sessions still has his job.
