Looks like the Libertarians who were Ron Paul Supporters and the Nevertrumpers have taken over the Republican Party of Texas.
The Chairman was the leader of the "Free the Delegates" at the National Convention and tried to prevent Donald Trump getting the nomination.
After he was elected by the State Republican Executive Committee, to fill out an unexpired term, he fired many of the regular conservative employees and hired only his Libertarian and NeverTrump brethren after he promised to maintain the same staff.
If true its a DICK move.
Nothing new, sadly. For years we had a TWO THIRDS MAJORITY in both state houses, yet we could barely get a Voter ID bill through...and that was it, no school choice, no control over property taxes or state spending, NOTHING!
And so it continues, I guess.
Who cares about the Republican party. Gregg Abbot is the Governor and he is a Trump supporter. People in Texas just like the rest of the Country don’t trust the Republican party. Ted Cruz was elected running against the most powerful Republican in the state. We are not a Republican state...we are a conservative state!!!!
See the 2016 primaries, and how Bernie Sanders fared in caucus states vs. states with primaries.
If so; that’s one tick away from going full liberal.
Good point. Many people I know are done with the RPT because of the fringe whack jobs that have taken over.
I did not attend the state convention because I don’t want to be around those kooks. Imagine King Nevertrumper as head of the state party!!
Trust is hardly the word for it. Loathe, deprecate, despise, regard as muck on the bottom of your shoe.
School districts have become unaccountable to parents and taxpayers.
Liberal NGOs hook up with school administrators to influence them, though most coming out of the education schools are far left anyway.
The admins tell school boards what is recommended per studies or theoretically best for kids.
School boards tend toward liberal or may be conservative, but they make a common mistake in our society - they assume the so-called experts are neutral, unbiased and know best.
So they do what the admins say no matter what parents say.
A good start to curing this problem is culling the number of admin roles in all schools, such as mandating 70% of school funding goes to the classroom. In some places, is as low as 60%.
Then end the automatic promotions in pay and preference in promotion to admin based on education. Admins getting masters and doctorates in education rarely gain useful skills and tend instead to be more indoctrinated, to the detriment of parents.
Another step is ending the loophole of “supplemental materials” being used to introduce Common Core lessons regardless of the official textbooks.
What’s up with Texan conservatives? Don’t they organize and vote?
Oh golly, what a shock...
libertarians are not never-Trumpers
My understanding is that George P Bush was greeted by Boos. Had it confirmed by someone there. Was that the libertarians? Seems like George P would be the nevertrumpers go to guy.
I hate #NeverTrumpers as much as liberals.
‘libertarians are not never-Trumpers’
many are, most are not...
As I see it...we have Dem Party and Gope party and the Conservative Party....and then we have ‘the Trump Party’.
The one who gets things done for the American people has my vote..and we know who that is without question.
Libertarians are just light Demorats.
I’m saddened if that is true....Never Trumpers should not be in the Republican Party...
To my extreme disappointment I have found that that is not correct.
A lot of people don’t seem to realize that Libertarians and libertarians aren’t the same thing.
