Deb Haaland is one step closer to becoming the first Native American congresswoman in U.S. history. She won her New Mexico primary Tuesday night in a district that leans blue and is currently held by a retiring Democrat.
In an interview with ABC, Haaland said, In 230 years, theres never been a Native American woman in Congress. I have never seen myself in that body of our government. Ten years ago, when I was out in Indian country knocking on doors and driving folks to the polls, I never thought I would run for Congress.

Sure there has....Elizabeth Warren. The US Senate is one house of Congress.
Wow - the likeness is so remarkable.
No, but there have been 11 males.
Plus another Identity Democrat, obsessed with what she looks like rather than the content of her character. If she has any
How many female native americans have ever run?
>>No, but there have been 11 males.
Bah. That’s just more of the patriarchy!
She speakum same old heap big liberal BS.
In the only diversity that really matters, ideological diversity, she is as ordinary and boring as dirt.
NM is probably the most anti-Trump state outside of MA and VT.
Looks like she is just another leftist wacko playing class warfare.
With her campaign “putting people before corporate profits,” does that mean she is not taking donations to run her campaign, and she is pledging not to accept any salary if elected? Somehow, I doubt it. Somehow, I think she is like most liberals: she’ll use politics to get rich without doing anything productive, and posture herself as noble for doing so.
There was an Indian vice president, Charles Curtis of KS, from 1929 to 1933; he was replaced by John Nance Garner of Uvalde, TX.
Debbie Haaland is the real deal.
But wait! The old typesetter in me awakens;
Deb needs someone to redo the type on that campaign poster. White Gothic upper case lettering on top of a lemon yellow sun icon of the same linear thickness? Big mistake.
Too hard to be read quickly. Someone may change future copies for her if it looks like she may win.
The surname Haaland can easily fit on the right side of the icon, with Deb on the left. No overlays.
obvious that she may not identify as an American. Liberals would love that.
In that NM district, she doesn’t have to do anything at all —just show up when she feels like it!
Why, they could be sisters.
So what? Why is it important? Are we to look and favor people for their color, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or how many times they took a shower in the past year? So she has an Indian heritage, does that make her better? Identity politics is another tool of the left for control and manipulation. What about truth and morality? Where does that fit?
Great.
Another racist.
