Rep. Keith Ellison (D-Minn.) is expected to make a last-minute entry into the race for Minnesota attorney general on Tuesday, according to two people familiar with his plans.
“I will make a decision tomorrow because it’s the filling deadline,” Ellison said, not disputing that he is likely to enter the election.
Ellison has been in Congress since 2007, and served as deputy chair of the Democratic National Committee since last year, as a leader of the Bernie Sanders wing of the party. But he’s been chafing for months at both roles: being in the minority in Congress and being subsumed to DNC Chairman Tom Perez, who beat him for the top job.

A Republican hasn’t won the MN Attorney General office in 52 years (1966). With this racist Communist buffoon as the DFL nominee, this might be an excellent shot at winning it.

He has serious primary competition from Ex-Ag Mike Hatch and DFL convention endorsed progtard activist Matt Pelikan, who beat out the incumbent for the party endorsement because she wasn’t anti-gun enough (she then dropped out and switched to the Gov race, Rep Nolan who’s leaving his swing seat is her running mate, so that’s 2 sitting Congressman running for state office).
Given that his nomination (even if he’s favored) is not assured, and the GE should be competitive, why the heck is he running for this? He thinks it will help with a future bid for Gov/Senate? A loss would leave him out in the lurch.
He must know the Dems aren’t going to retake Congress. Of course, he REALLY wanted to be DNC Chairman instead of that guy who looks like he has terminal AIDS. State AG is a position he can use to try to launch warfare against the administration for Soros-funded anti-American Communists causes for the next 6 years. The GOP should “help” Keef X get that nomination so we can win for the first time in 52 years.
