Weird Gun Tuesday: The Pistola Con Caricato Revolver
Am Shooting Journal ^ | 6/5/2018 | J Hines

Posted on 06/05/2018 4:42:57 AM PDT by w1n1

A break-action weapon, the Pistola con Caricato features three barrels, complimented by a very high capacity 18-shot cylinder, which is reloaded via two-piece moon clip-type loading devices. They sandwich the 18 rounds between a holding plate and a firing access plate, through which the firing pins strike the cartridges.

The weapon has five operational settings, and the selector allows the shooter to choose which firing pin and barrel would be used to fire the gun. It also has the option to fire from all three barrels at once with one pull of the trigger. It also features a mechanical safety that prevents the hammer from hitting any of the firing pins. Read and see the video of this Pistola Con Caricato Revolver here.

This is a machine gun!

The National Firearms Act, 26 U.S.C. 5845(b), defines a machine gun to include any weapon which shoots, is designed to shoot, or can be readily restored to shoot, automatically more than one shot, without manual reloading, by a single function of the trigger.

Yup, according to the strict reading of the statute.

I never understood why the ATF didn't rule the Arsenal Arms AF-2011 wasn't also ruled a machine gun, but they didn't.

I am always pleasantly surprised when ATF does something right. If I had the power, I would repeal all federal, state, and local gun laws, other than the ones exempting manufacturers from liability for misuse of their products. Sadly, we don’t have that power. Yet.

The point of gun laws is not to make sense. It’s to remove the exact weapons that represent civilians overthrowing their oppressors.
If this pistol was a symbol of resistance it would be banned. China learned that from us.

A gun for collectors. I buy pretty guns and this one is butt ugly. Yuck.

25 caliber doesn’t cut either.

BTW, the AF-2011 is one of my favorite guns that I would never own. It’s cute and clever, but if you can’t stop your target with one round of .45 Auto, you need to switch to a rifle.

It's very nice to be complimented but to complete the weapon it is better to be complemented.

That thing saves you the trouble of having to ‘double-tap’!

When the time comes to shoot back, pussy footing is ill advised!

Looks like they were made in Italy at the dawn of the twentieth century.

Hence the option for a 'triple tap.'

Depends on how you define “shot”. If “shot” is defined just as a projectile, then a shotgun loaded with buckshot would be a machinegun.

I'd like to see licensed CCW holders treated the same as C&Rs (without the bookkeeping). If I have passed state and federal background checks, why can't I have a firearm shipped directly to me, after they fill out a 4473 (we can address that later).

Yeah the gun dealers can cry, but that's $25-$35 dollars in MY pocket.

[Sidebar] I live in AZ bordering on NV. Guy their advertised that the handle AZ sales as well. Charged me $30 to take delivery, plus $10 because he had to drive to AZ to hand deliver it - I couldn't take possession in NV. Next time I ship to a UT FFL who charges $25 + $7.50 for a state check even though I also have a UT CCW. "That just means you can carry - we still have to check." Previous owner just called to make sure my CCW was still good and didn't charge me anything.
