Last week's episode was horrible. This weeks episode was just a fraction better -- but still horrible.
Anybody else finding it difficult to watch and to vest any interest in it anymore?
Fair enough. I know things don’t always come across in the written word the way we are thinking them in our minds. It has happened to me quite a lot. Perhaps I’m just not good at putting my thoughts into words all the time. Heck; it happens in general verbal conversation too. People take things personally when I didn’t intend it that way at all.
Thanks for the thoughtful and compete response. I really only meant unplug from the TV and find better/different entertainment than patronizing the actors, producers, networks, etc that would rather see you dead. Kurt Schlichter has a relevant thread about it now... http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3660384/posts
Love Billions. I liked the premiere of Successor on HBO.
Try a couple of episodes of The Americans. Russians trained to be American, move here as a couple and raise children and carry out missions. Well acted, merges well with US-USSR issues of the 1980s. Just ended after, I think 7 seasons.
On the other hand, I enjoy good entertainment too and one can't always pick the people who put out some excellent products from time to time.
Best example is Willie Nelson. I don't like his politics but he is a great song writer and singer. I had two golf buddies that wouldn't listen to him because he was a liberal.
I told them, point me to a conservative Willie Nelson to listen to and I will. In the meantime, we can't pick a great performer, like Nelson's, politics.
Like my wife says, "You can't always pick the baby's mother."
My life does not revolve around political ideology.
You keep talking about "find better/different and different entertainment" but you never identify what that is. Streaming entertainment products seems to work just fine for me.
If I didn't do things because people hated me or wanted to see me dead, I would've been dead from the inactivity years ago.
I'm not going to become a vegetarian because the local butcher beats his wife. I would hope that issues like that will work themselves out over time, like all other problems in life.
But I will still buy his meat.
OTOH I didn’t care for the “noir PI” aspect of the early shows, being a big Sci-Fi fan. But held on, wasn’t that hard, and love the shows now- VERY Sci-Fi. Almost Larry Niven quality.
(When aill they do Ringworld?)
Westworld’s plot is a mess.
Season 1 was tremendous. This season seems to be tumbling out of control.
