There have already been so many changes when it comes to the summit, so I will just wait and see what will happen. I haven't really thought about being scared, but now that you are asking, I suppose I should be concerned about the way things could turn out.
If there is change in North Korea, then I think the architecture and real estate businesses will be hot. There is a lot of land that is not being used, so people involved in designing and building museums, office buildings and homes will be needed.

I do believe Trump's negotiation style will force North Korea to change, and I'm hopeful. I have lost my trust in the South Korean government, I moved here and have felt safe, but the South Korean government is so determined to appease North Korea that I don't know what would have happened if not for Trump.
If North Korea opens its economy, then the online market will take off. Real estate will also be big in North Korea, it is now a disaster, a combination of government control from the past and now anything goes culture. North Koreans are so used to evading the government to support themselves that they don't respect the law and regulations.

I have higher expectations because of Trump, I did not expect anything from Bush or Obama because they were typical politicians. Trump is a real businessman, if he doesn't see a good deal then he won't move. I'm not concerned because I have not identified myself publicly as being from North Korea.
But one of my colleagues has been threatened by a North Korean communist organization in Japan that has become more active lately. They have threatened her through phone calls warning her to halt her activities against North Korea and even threatened a TV station that had been planning a documentary about her.
I'm not optimistic, but if there is change in North Korea, then tourism will be big. My family was wealthy when I was in North Korea because we got into the market early. I got to see a lot of the country when we were traveling around doing business. Many areas of North Korea are preserved, I hope it won't develop so quickly like Korea or Japan have.

Other than by the sovereign authorities of NK how would you suggest this transformation be administered?
I don’t think China is just going to sit on its azz and lets us have NK. They can truck their crap in. Ours goes by sea and air. Where was the stuff you used today made? This is about nuke neutering and hopefully sneaking in some freedom and letting it take root. IMO that done without military options is a boner/I mean bonus.

I think it could be done, but it would be a herculean undertaking, and a huge money pit for the administering parties for years.
South Korea maybe not Japan .
There is nothing “refined” about Dennis Rodman except one acting role as some kind of detective in a movie.
He did play a mean game of basketball and I think he means well. How much is real and how much is role-playing remains to be seen.

The Catch 22 is, there are too many Catch 22s. China is establishing regional dominance. If North Korea opens up to the South and other countries, China may view that as a threat. In the article defectors are pleased that Trump is forcing North Korea to negotiate, but no one expressed concerns about China's role.
North Korea does not get along with other countries for more reasons than their militarism. A significant part of their economy (meaning the bank accounts of party bosses) is due to North Korea's illicit activities. Government run counterfeiting, drug smuggling, and human trafficking is a large part of their exports. Whether or not the Worker's Party of Korea runs organized crime or is a crime syndicate that runs a government is situational.
When communist countries allow foreign investors, they usually just want the money. They are not interested in the part about paying investors back. Cuba has a history of cheating foreign investors and North Korea is no better. South Korea businesses in the Kaesong Industrial Park have lost money on North Korean promises. Even if the DPRK were to open up more to foreign investors, a quote from Dr. Who comes to mind: "do the smart thing... and let someone else try first".
It goes without saying that under no circumstance should the Clinton's be allowed to make any further investments in North Korea. Their investments in the DPRK nuclear program at taxpayer expense was more than enough, and had a remarkably poor return on investment. </sarc>
North Koreans would become much more involved in sports, if North Korea, truly, becomes an open market country, and this includes professional sports. As one example, South Koreans do well in playing professional baseball, while it barely exists, in any form, in North Korea. I would be very surprised if there aren’t that many North Koreans who end up doing well in playing baseball, all the way up to the professional level, just like in South Korea.

What might work is opening sweatshops in NK. Lots of sweatshops. Have them make clothing, assemble electronics, whatever. Have stores next to the sweatshops where they can buy food.
It will take GENERATIONS to undo what the Kims have done to the people there.

NK’s have no money and there is nothing there for tourists to see ‘cept for statues and pics of the Kim family.....and there is no heat anywhere so any tourist season would be for half a year at most......
Until the NK’s are free, nothing will happen.
