Trying to talk with these people and present a coherent, reasonable argument, when the person is totally incoherent, unreasonable, vulgar, nasty, violent and just plain damned stupid...well, it ain't my cup o' tea no more.

I will simply ignore them and continue on with my life.

Varies by person. I (probably foolishly) mentioned to several coworkers that I own KABA -- conversation about the Parkland shooting and people were asking what kind of a nut would own guns, considering that I'm a normal, fairly likeable person I said I own guns, put that in your perspective. One immediately double-timed it to her computer, literally stood up right away and fast walked out of the conversation and emailed HR...Luckily nothing came of it. Another, a black Democrat, was intrigued. Explained some insane gun laws (for example in MA, no adjustable stocks allowed), showed him some statistics, eventually took him to the range, and now he's on the right side of the 2nd amendment. Still a dem, but he's thinking.

Anti-gun shirt wearing mom at baseball got into it with me on my NRA shirt. I simply gave her the gun quiz picked up here and at Arfcom

Question: I have 20 guns in my gun safe. 10 are semi-auto. Congress passes law that bans all semi autos and police have authority to confiscate/destroy. How many guns are in my gun safe now?

Answer: 148. I lied about having only 20 guns and I didn't turn any in.
