North Korean leader Kim Jong Un is said to be anxious about his summit with President Donald Trump in Singapore next month.
Citing sources familiar with the preparations, The Washington Post reported Tuesday that Kim was less concerned about meeting Trump than he was about what might happen at home in Pyongyang while he's gone.
Kim is apparently concerned that the trip to Singapore may leave his government vulnerable to a military coup or that other hostile actors might try to depose him, sources told The Post. The Kim dynasty has ruled North Korea since the country's inception following the armistice in 1953.
Rumors of a simmering military revolt in North Korea are precisely the kind of thing that emboldened Kim to keep a tight grip on power over the years, according to some experts....

I mean honestly, what is stopping the military from overthrowing his fat ass now?
This guy should DEFINITELY be paranoid
He’s murdered and terrorized his whole littke boy life
You REAP what you SOW
I believe he is scared to death of being photo’d next to Melania. Once the citizens of NK see that, his days are numbered.
If Trump pulls this off, it would be the greatest non-military foreign policy initiative in US history.
“Fat boy” is not our enemy right now
No way. Are you saying all those crowds of happy people bowing down and calling him Big Daddy were just play acting?
I do hope the fbi have inserted some agents into the white house to protect the Pres from the norks.
Let’s hope he has a Gorbachev moment. Some time around late 1988 or early 1989, Gorby realized that the USSR made no sense. He decided to preside over its disintegration into fifteen separate republics that could each decide their own destiny, as well as liberating eastern Europe. All but Romania took the easy way out, the Romanian people had to deal with their tyrant and did so.
I was at a very symbolic event in Toronto in 1988. I describe it in my book, Living Waters. Georgi Arbatov, a member of the Politburo, came to Toronto to describe the glories of perestroika and glasnost. Apparently these were that people could say some things now and find a few products in their stores instead of empty shelves.
But it was only a halfway measure, and all the representatives of nations enslaved (for 75 years) by the USSR came to the meeting. They wanted nothing to do with this sham and screamed abuse at Arbatov for the entire span of the “open mike” session. Translators refused to translate but we could tell from the demeanour what was being said ... namely this, who the hell are you to pretend that the Soviet Union is anything but an empty shell and a fraud?
And that is what Trump should ask Kim ... why do you persist in the lie, the deception, the nonsense ... why do you starve your people just to keep some fat little porkers in luxury? Let them go. Let them join the free world, their compatriots in South Korea which has thrived as a free country. Just give it up.
And then perhaps the virus will be contained in China also where the lie is a little better concealed. And then all the Chinese will stop coming to British Columbia when they can afford to get out of the ant colony and we can have our province back.
Trust the plan.
Though obvious I never considered that. Tyrants have enemies everywhere and they can’t kill them all.
This article has a specific purpose. Who is behind it and what is their purpose?
I’m not sure.
I had thought as you did, before he met with the Chinese and changed his demeanor.
Now I am not sure.
Is Kim, or isn’t he?
Using this logic....he can never leave the capital ever again.
The comical thing here is that he could end up in Singapore....see a coup unfolding in North Korea....and suddenly find himself as a guy without a country (kinda like Panama’s Torrijos in 1969 being out of the country when that coup occurred).
Would President Trump step up and offer Kim sanctuary in the US? Or would the Administration pay off some country to take Kim?
The Russians/Soviets saw that the end of the line was near as the empire was collapsing into bankruptcy. They lacked the money, economic might, technology and market to even break even and needed a lot of the former to stay alive. Thus they reverted to use the one key strategic thing that had always saved them, i.e. give up some lands for time.
They did it to Napoleon and then Hitler, and now they are doing it again. When they feel strong enough again they set about to reclaim the lands they retreated from earlier. This is exactly what we are witnessing with Putin.
Not so much, I think he truly is in jeopardy of being ousted while he’s gone. Whoever he leaves in charge whether one person or a 5 man tribunal type might not want him to lead anymore.
What if this is all a ruse and he gets lured out of country and then arrested for murder of his brother and others killed outside of North Korea?
Didn’t he leave a little while back on a train trip to Beijing?
Didnt he leave a little while back on a train trip to Beijing?

Twice as a matter of fact. I call BS on this story.
Dont ya hate when you go out on a business trip, only to come back to and empty office and all of your stuff in a box? I hate when that happens.
Better your business than your home!
(I used to have dreams like that about my home - but thank goodness only as an adult, and with the home I grew up with.”
That’s been my biggest “concern” - that a military coup might happen and wreak even more havoc until N. Korea finally disintegrated the rest of the way. It would just give the already hard up citizens even more pain before things settled down. I imagine some of the top military folks might have concerns about their futures if there is a true Accord.....
Meeting won’t happen.
He knows he would lose control of NK.
And be a dead man walking.........
