Post some good pictures folks!
I’m making Chinese for dinner. Cashew pork.
Cream cod is excellent over toast or mashed potatoes. It’s good at breakfast over toast or biscuits with scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage.
Just a sombrero? Not wonder you could not get a picture.
Lots of what people think is Mexican food originated in Texas. All meat chili. Fajitas. Nachos. Enchiladas. Chili con queso. Chalupas. Tortilla chips with salsa. Cumin flavoring. Cheddar cheese. Chimichangas. Seven layer dip.
MS-13 mug shots might be appropriate ...
Wore my U.S. Border Patrol hat today to the bridge tournament party.
I came in 2nd place.
Lots of folks “got it” when they saw my hat.
Wish I could post pics. Sigh ... some day maybe.
Taco Bell is not really Mexican.
...and may not really be food.
Would someone translate what those words (Cinco de Mayo) mean? I’ve never paid any attention to it in the past. but since the Mexican restaurant moved in next door, I’ve taken an interest in keeping up. Nice people.
Fifth of May.
Are you kidding me? What the heck are they celebrating on the fifth of May? I celebrate my father’s birthday and his and Mom’s anniversary even though they have been in heaven for many years. Surely something important happened on the fifth of May for them to be celebrating. I wondered all day why the restaurant had the red & green balloons strung across the front of their building. Looked festive.
Some battle or other is the alleged reason -——many say it’s just an excuse to party, like St Patrick’s Day.
.
Cheddar cheese. Came from Cheddar, England. The original colonists brought the recipe.
My daughter gave me some cheddar cheese from Cheddar England. They don’t ship it. You have to go there to get it.
Elk burger with Tillamook cheddar cheese tonight. Tillamook, English style, Cape Mears Cheddar. You have to go to the cheese factory to get it:)
That’s what I love about FR. I learn something new every day!
No. 9. The Five Hot Tamales ensemble.
Yes, should have been more clear. The use of cheddar on Mexican/Tex-Mex food originated in Texas and is not Mexican.
Question: what do the French have to do with Cinco de Mayo?
