Thinking the Unthinkable: What If Trump Succeeds?
The Politico ^ | May 2, 2018 | Jeff Greenfield

Or, why the talks with Kim Jong Un are a test for Democrats.

Let us assume for the moment that Donald Trump is an “idiot” and a “f----ing moron” who hasn’t got a clue about the substance of legislation. (These judgments, if multiple news reports are accurate, come from the president’s current chief of staff, his former secretary of state and any number of Republican legislators, respectively). Let us draw from countless accounts of his conduct going back decades that the president is mendacious, graceless and a misogynist on steroids, whose character, temperament, historical cluelessness and utter incapacity for self-reflection make him by any measure the most unfit occupant of the White House ever.

Now: If you accepted these assumptions, how hard would it be to grant the president any credit for … anything? Could you embrace the old adage that “even a stopped clock is right twice a day”? Or would your wholesale revulsion at the president’s conduct simply make it impossible to accept even the possibility that he may have done something, anything, right?

In the wake of the head-snapping developments on the Korean Peninsula—North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and South Korean President Moon Jae-in shaking hands across the 38th parallel, talk of a formal end to the war 68 years after the armistice, a meeting between Kim and Trump—voices far removed from the circle of Trump admirers, such as former acting CIA Director Michael Morrell, and diplomatic correspondents for the New York Times and the Washington Post, have offered the president measured praise. One of the president’s toughest critics, Rep. Adam Schiff, offered this backhanded compliment:

“....more than fair to say that the combination of the president’s unpredictability and, indeed, his bellicosity had something to do with the North Koreans deciding to come to the table.”(continued)

They're in trouble and they know it. How do you impeach or defeat a man who just snatched world peace out of the jaws of mendacity?

According to the same polls that predicted Hillary would win in 2016.

True but it’s they always come in low for DJT. It’s mostly about perception in any case. Do you really think he was in the 30’s with his base?

Their trouble is that the mid-terms are unlikely to produce the necessary results...a Democratic-controlled House, which you could use for impeachment purposes.

They’ve made this entire mid-term about impeachment only, and in red-states/red-districts....it won’t have any positive effect. It harms Democrats running.

I might agree that five or six GOP House seats are flipping, but there’s at least five Democratic Senate seats likely to go over to the Republicans....even Corkers Tennessee seat will go to the GOP.

And I don’t think the NK situation is the last of Trump act. I think the Palestinians will have to come over and play the Trump game as well. The EU will be forced to talk TTIP again. And Mexico in some way....will pay for the wall in the end.

Tax remittances at 3 to 5% and that would do it.

Will any Democrat contemplating a run for the presidency—the number is now somewhere between 20 and 50—say so? Or does the base of the party hold Trump in such revulsion that any hint of praise would be a political kiss of death?

The answer to this will be a reflection of how much the Dems can recognize reality when it is laid before them. Preliminary indications aren't encouraging - they've spun the economic successes as belonging to somebody else and the stellar unemployment figures have been met with a resentful silence. You can't make wine out of grapes that sour, and you can't make electoral success either.

Historically low black and non-black unemployment, a border fortified, corporate taxes lowered, regulations rescinded, the economy booming, trade deficit restructuring, moving the US embassy to Jerusalem, under-funding the anti-US United Nations, and the only success Politico is willing to begrudge Trump is North Korea? The coffee. Wake up and smell it.

The progressive democrats are in a dire situation. If Trump succeeds on track with his past performance it would mean the end of progressive democrats.

After that, Democrats will turn true centerests not this abomination that it’s become today. A few years go by then the Democrats who left their party because of the progressivism will mosey on back to the centrist democratic body. The GOP party will dwindle and the two parties would reach a parity with the only thing separating them being the Center line.

They will have to compete for Black Americans tell their feminazis to shut up and put their SJW out to pasture.

That is, unless they stop Trump and in their own words “by any means necessary”. So pray for Trump’s safety and security because their options are dwindling.

It’s not a complete given that the Dems will win the house but it is a likely outcome.

It’s not a complete given that the GOP will hold on to the Senate, that to is the likely outcome.

If the Senate ties up I expect McCain’s last FU will be to switch parties before he dies.

And Mexico in some way....will pay for the wall in the end.

Every factory that Trump draws back to the US is already paying for The Wall.

Thinking the Unthinkable: What If Trump Succeeds?>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Its exceedingly simple as we watch the entire left wing of the now insane Dem Party bend over and take it.

Republicans will gain 10 in the House and 3 seats in the Senate in November, and the rails for PDJT will be greased for the next 6 years. No impeachment possible.

The Muellet witch hunt will whimper to a close, having succeeded in its original design to protect the criminal Hillary Clinton.

IF Trump were all the things bandied around about him, he would never have become a billionaire. But he did. Several times over. So somebody is living in a fairy tale and it’s not Trump.

(Yet the anger at the president’s behavior is so strong that the very fact that he remains in office seems to his fiercest critics an indictment of the press.)

Nice window in the liberal’s unhinged mind...including the author’s!
