I am a Millennial. I am smackdab in the middle of this generation that now makes up the largest portion of the U.S. workforce. I write this out of love, a desire to inform, and a deep concern for where we are and where we are going.
The over-analyzed, overly entitled, and increasingly struggling generation of Americans born roughly between 1981 and 1997 have been berated by a never ending stream of articles about them in recent years. They are the most ethnically and racially diverse in Americas melting pot so far, behind only the generation to follow it. Millennials just passed Gen X-ers as the largest portion of the U.S. workforce as there are now 56 million either working or looking for work as of last year, according to the Pew Research Center.

The Response: This sounds like hard work. In my emotionally fragile state, can't someone just do all of this for me?
I think retirement planners say to start earlier. But realistically age 40 still provides ample time to start saving for retirement. When I was 40 I don't remember very many people my age mentioning they had retirement savings.
“These same people will spend $600 a month on cell phones & usage, and NOT pay down their college debts.”
Don’t forget the tattoos. Don’t know much about them, but I don’t think they’re cheap. It fries my ass to be behind EBT-using lowlifes in the checkout line, and the adults are covered with tattoos.
Cry me a friggin river.
Filthy, greedy institutions of higher anti-American indoctrination are responsible for this.
The radical social change that is needed to correct this problem is itself not radical.
1) States need to “burst the education bubble”, by returning to the idea that state subsidies to colleges are *solely* so that graduates can make more money than high school graduates.
Thus, no longer subsidize degrees and classes with low or no job placement within six months after graduation. Then forbid such degrees and classes from being funded by student loans. They can only be paid for in cash from the bank accounts of either the student or their parent or guardian directly, not from any student loan organization.
So, if students want a nonsense degree, and are willing to evade these protections to get it, it is solely their own fault.
2) All minor children must be provided at least three hours a week of chaperoned, cross gender socialization, in which they cannot self segregate, nor be permitted to carry out focused individual tasks or self isolation. Chaperoning does not mean close supervision or directed activities other than at a basic level. The idea is that boys and girls must act in cooperation with each other, and get to know each other in the process. Bad or impolite behavior will not be tolerated.
And brand new cars vs. used cars. The fact they don’t work to help pay off tuition or for support vs. the loan money paying for all expenses.
The fact that few go to two years to community college first then transfer to cut down on loan expenses.
On the flip side they voted for the GOP who controlled spending and debt? Bahahahahahahahaha!!!
It is in large part, self-inflicted stupidity. These ppl need to adapt to the changing times. When college puts you into debt for decades, DON’T DO IT!! Get another form of education.

Maybe they should learn to read.
I recently started a savings account to save to buy a car in a few years rather than going into debt now. Everyone really thinks I’m crazy. I honestly thought I’d get a few atta girls, but I got a lot of exasperated are you nuts remarks instead.
