Chemical Warfare – Beyond Syria
Canada Free Press ^ | 04/16/18 | Jim O'Neill

Posted on 04/16/2018 7:32:00 AM PDT by Sean_Anthony

The attack on Syria’s chemical weapon facilities was not merely aimed at Syria – it was also a message aimed at any nation/entity that might be considering the use of chemical weapons

It says something very profound about the horrors of chemical warfare that even given the inherent insanity of war the use of gas is universally considered beyond the pale. The civilized nations of the world agree – chemical warfare is anathema, no exceptions.

Alfred Nobel, inventor of dynamite and namesake of the famous “Nobel Prize,” thought that the use of dynamite in war would be so catastrophic that wars would end altogether. Wrong.

” The civilized nations of the world agree – chemical warfare is anathema, no exceptions”

The problem today is that we have fewer and fewer civilized nations.

I’ve got to admit I can’t wrap my mind around this. A country that the entire world is watching decides to gas its own people? A country that doesn’t control but a fraction of its territory? Is it possible that one of those Islamist terrorist groups got their hands on the weapons and are framing the Asaad government just so we’ll attack and weaken it further?

If Asaad is really doing this, he’s stupid beyond belief. From what I understand, he’s winning his civil war. If opposing Islamist terrorist groups are doing this, then we’re stupid beyond belief. The phrase “cat’s paw” comes to mind, and we’re the stupid cat.

It says that we are doing the same stupid crap we’ve been doing since Korea; mucking around where we have no business. Nothing outside of our borders is worth one taxpayer dollar or one drop of American blood.

I am very sceptical Assad did this. He’s a POS thug but it doesn’t make much sense. The guy is not stupid. He has to know the gas attacks get people riled up.

Blah blah blah. Meanwhile in the Sudan and Nigeria, Christians are butchered. I don’t really think they cared HOW they died.

I’ve got to admit I can’t wrap my mind around this.

That is because you are viewing it from a western civilization point of reference and not the middleeastern Islamic context. Not only do ME despotic leaders want to defeat any opposition/rebellions, they want to crush them so completely with a terror aspect that they won't dream of rising up. Make an example out of one group and others will get the message as well.
