- produces 1/3rd of the nation’s natural gas, which heats New Yorkers’ homes and provides most of their electricity;
- produces 35% of the nation’s oil, which provides the gasoline that powers New York’s economy;
- Consistently has had the top-ranked business climate in the nation over the last decade, which has led many former New York-based businesses to relocate there;
- Produced Stevie Ray Vaughan, Willie Nelson, George Strait and Dwight Eisenhower; and
- Voted for Donald Trump over Hillary Clinton in 2016.
