This vanity post describes my fascinating journey towards becoming a semi-cripple for the rest of my life.
A week ago last Saturday I was replacing smoke detector batteries in my home and fell off a ladder
Ive been to war, flew fighters and was a Texas police officer and I make it through relatively uninjured, but falling off a ladder does me in.
Yup. That simple and that silly.
And all my fault.
There is a long recovery ahead, with full recovery not really possible.
I may need a walker, may need a cane for the rest of my life.
Thank you for sharing your story. My brother had a very similar fall and injury a couple years ago.
Glad you still have a sense of humor, that you recognize the many examples of “the Lord’s work”, and that you are on the road to recovery. Prayers for strength as you cross the hurdles that lie ahead.
The wind storm has lifted one of my roof vents. I just turned 55. Can I have your permission to get on my roof when the wind stops to fix it?
LOL
Perfect
Thank you, sir.
Good luck, buddy. I don’t know how many times I’ve stepped off the third rung thinking it was the first rung. Hurt myself the last time so I’m starting to pay closer attention.
Prayers sent you way.
Did they give you any evil opioids?
Certainly not something you should do while (1) home alone (2) ice on the roof (3) any sense of intoxication, low or high blood sugar, angry at anyone...
There’s no use in getting down about what happens...You just go on about your life...
People can’t believe when my wife and I make jokes about it....
Inspiring and entertaining post. Thank you for the deep (medicated) thoughts. Prayers for you, my FRiend, for a good recovery. God bless you.
Get better!
LOL
Thanks for the final statement.

WE JUST GET BANNED FOR SUPPORTING TED CRUZ
Hahahahahahaha!
There’s a point in life where the ladder morphs from a friend to an enemy, and I’m about at that point. Thanks for the post; it’s a good reminder. Hopefully your recovery will be swift and complete...
Appreciate the encouraging words.
With gratitude thanks!
You have my prayers. What a horrible ordeal. Prayerfully hoping for the best outcome. Take care.
Roger that.
I’m my own handyman
