Across the country, Rep. Joe Kennedy III, part-time comedian Jimmy Kimmel and California Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsome all called on elected officials to “do something.”
But what is “something”? Without details, it’s like a group of lost hikers declaring they need to “find their way home.” Yes, everyone can agree with that, but which way do you go?

We’ve had them in our “special” schools for years....along with armed guards. Guess the school demographics.

Metal detectors and armed guards. Simple. Sad that it’s necessary, but when society sticks its middle finger up at God, there will be consequences. Kick God out, evil moves in.

Wow, that was very well written and demonstrates the problem with “do something”. The reality is that school shooting have always been around, just not the lethality of modern history since 1990. The liberals would tell you that its about the semi-automatic weapons, like the AR15. However, FULL AUTO weapons, like the Thompson submachine gun or Browning automatic rifle could be acquired all the way into the 1920’s, but no multiple schools death shootings.
Clearly, bombing is more effective at mass deaths, as you demonstrated in your discussion. Moreover, the recent florida shooter could have pulled the fire alarm and then waited. When everyone lined up outside the school he could have run them over with a truck. Likely, this would have resulted in more casualties.
The main difference, IMHO, is cultural and related to the liberals. Interesting in that they deflect to an inanimate object the failings of their philosophy. The elimination of GOD and personal responsibility, natural feedback mechanisms disrupted (political correctness) as well as a sense of community, has resulted in violence.
Ask yourselves, if the Philadelphia Eagles had won the Superbowl in 1970’s would the city have rioted?

You either need a religious morals system like Judaism, Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism, ... that teaches right from wrong and instills moral values; or you need a code of honor taught to you and instilled within you, i.e., patriotism , esprit de corps, Code of Chivalry, etc.
Without this you are morally bankrupt and self centered.
The schools have killed off morals and honor. Schools hold honor, patriotism and religion up to ridicule with adherence to rote micromanagement by regulation.
So we don’t have any details about what “do something” means. How about getting behind “hope & change”?
Restrictions on guns haven’t seemed cut down on school shootings. When guns had no restrictions prior to the 1960s, there were hardly any school shootings. Then in the 1990s, school shootings shot up and continue to increase.
As the family has broken down due to liberal policies, school shootings have increased. I see a very exclusionary culture that has emerged that stifles free speech and expression. It is groupthink. This is how the Left controls children and adults. It’s enough to make a sane person pop eventually much less someone who has some loner with mental problems who would normally just keep to himself.

You are absolutely right. That is why Secular Humanists want to ban guns but are fine with the killing of babies/abortion.
This article is a valuable read for those who need to come back to earth. The only thing that would have stopped this kook was a bullet, hopefully in the brain after the first shot knocked him down. The only answer is armed a trained faculty and staff which is done all over this country to protect children. If you think this is bad I want you to fathom what I think is an inevitable Muslim attack in a school with multiple gunmen. What stops that? background checks? gun grabbing? unconstitutional lists of those with “mental illness” ( what ever that is). I hate to tell you but even the vast number of Churches and synagogues in this country have already figured that out. They are prepared for defense of an innocent congregation as our schools should be prepared to protect our children. So you can march and yell “DO SOMETHING” but the only thing that will have real effect is a trained faculty or staff with weapons readily available. The rest is all BS.
Some of us in America are taught manners and still stand with our President regardless of who won because that is the American way....others do not...in fact they spew vindictive language so hateful and distasteful regardless that they have children and grandchildren within ear shot.
I am sure Nikolas Cruz was raised with such hateful language...he didn't turn out so well....it is sickening to hear otherwise intelligent people vent their hatred about a man who is doing some good for America.

On Monday morning the White House signaled that President Trump supports the law Sens. John Cornyn (R-TX) and Chris Murphy (D-CT) are pushing for the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS).
Problem with background check: doesn’t do any good if the agencies don’t report it. As for domestic violence and other personal complaints, I would hope it would have to be proven that a crime had actually been committed, and i’m not talking about throwing some mashed potatoes at someone or someone making false accusations to get even or other reasons.
How about enforcing the laws already on the books?
Most criminal killings are done with illegal guns and NY got many illegal guns off the street.
When a person puts a direct terrorist threat online and signs his name to it, that ‘s usually a bad sign. Go after him you effin idiots.
