‘Mankind’ was always mankind until silly, frilly Justin-Justine Trudeau came merrily prancing down the primrose path to christen it as ‘PEOPLEKIND’.
But how was to know that the truth might come along to bite him right in his fastidiously preserved royal rump?
While all deplorables remain in the ‘mankind ‘category, North American Liberals are graduating cum laude to ‘Peoplekind’.
“One giant leap for peoplekind” just doesn’t have the same ring to it.

On the other hand, the left probably doesn’t have an issue with the term “homo sapiens.”
I’ve never heard anyone on the left criticize the use of the word “guys” to refer to a mixed group of men and women, or even to a group of women, but - in the latter case - they would probably object to “gals” as somehow old-fashioned and patriarchal or - God forbid! - rural or Southern..

Notice that he didn’t change it over to “humankind”; it was “people-kind”.
This of course means that humans can be classified as “non-people”. Humans like conservatives, fetuses, white males, etc.

There are several threads on this topic and we have been testing our vocabularies to list all the nouns etc., which use man, men, son, in some form.
Since human has “man” in it, human is apparently also offensive.
Because God hadn’t any idea of what to call those He created.....maybe Trudy wants the Bible to be amended so Jesus is referred to as “Son of Peoplekind”....
