... Besides this being the first time the Heritage Team has done this at the Super Bowl, theres an interesting mix of aircraft flying over U.S. Bank Stadium.
There are four planes representing three generations of aircraft for the flyover: one F-16, two A-10s and a P-51 (more about the planes themselves below). Theyll be flying in a diamond formation with the P-51 out in front, the two A-10s even with each other on the side and the F-16 bringing up the rear.
Its a really unique formation to take a look at, because you never really get to see those vintage aircraft flying with modern fighters, Levy said.
The heritage formation is unique. Its usually just four modern day fighters that are all similar operating a similar speeds and used to doing a flyover together, Maj. John Waters, the F-16 pilot, said.
Its a sign of strength and unity and the sacrifices that have been made. And the cool factor is off the chart. Its a very special event, Hinton said.

Hey, I love the ‘Hog.’ Only a BUFF can adsorb MORE flak damage and continue its mission/ return the pilot and air-frame to base.

Vintage? F-16 is hardly vintage. Still in service, and God bless them. About as great as the P-51.
And how is the A-10 much different in representing generations when its basically the contemporary of the F-16?

I’ve had the privilege of seeing a B-52 fly over WAY low, with the bomb bay doors open. That was something.

Read your history...the “Red Tails” served briefly in China, providing bomber cover from bombing raids that came out of china to Japan. They were moved quickly to the ETO, because of the horrific losses of B17s and their crews. In the ETO as bomber cover, they performed outstanding, literally saving hundreds of airman lives.
I suspect it’s like how my cat feels as the hawks circle overhead, but without the booming thunder.
I used to hang out at Bradley Int'l in CT from time to time. There is/was a wing of A-10s there. Hamilton Standard used to host air shows there. I met a number of A-10 pilots over the years. A proud bunch who really loved their aircraft.

Politically Incorrect Rant Follows:
McSally was in Kuwait and we had no status of forces agreement and that meant we all had to conform to local laws when off base. She refused and instead of taking it up the chain, she jumped outside the military and went congressional straight-away (and media picked it up). That is disgraceful behavior. . .all about her.
Instead of taking it up the chain and if necessary the IG route, she by-passed military channels and jumped to congress to push her agenda. It is one thing to go congressional after exhausting military channels, it is awful behavior to ignore military channels and jumping to congress.
Campbell is nothing more than any other average pilot. Seriously. She only got coverage because she was a female that flew a fighter (not a fighter pilot).
Can you name the male Lt that experienced the same battle damage (actually a little more), but died when attempting to land the jet? How about the colonel that survived and brought his jet back and landed successfully (with more damage than campbell), and any number of other male fighter pilots that brought back damaged jets. But yet, cambell’sname comes to mind. . .why is that?
Fighter pilots are warriors where aggression is natural and is a manly trait, and the reason is simple: Testosterone.
Testosterone is mocked and laughed at all the time in media and other venues, but that is what drives natural manly aggression.
And it is always the female telling aggressive males to tone down their natural aggression. Heck, even Hollywood recognizes how Testosterone drives aggressive behavior.
Men have natural aggression, testosterone-driven, whereas females can be mean but they do not possess natural warrior aggression.

“Contemporary” with the F-16?
IMHO, not really, the A-10 is a jet defined by Cold War expectations of fighting Soviet tanks. . .anti-armor and CAS missions, whereas the F-16 was designed to be a day/night fighter (mostly day), to fight an air-to-air war (”not a pound for air to ground”).
They are worlds apart and have nothing in common.

Reading his speech, he placed more warning on abuse by academia, not the defense industry.
MILITARY:

YET people ignore his more dire warning:
