Many of us who have to buy some kind of cable television have avoided the overpriced, premium movie channels that rotate the same films and occasionally give you a new option you'll watch once. So we're forced to buy a basic cable package that has a very few daily go-to channels and others we have no real reason to waste our time on and that's how they get us.
Imagine how many more people would sign up for cable if they ONLY have to pay for channels and content they wanted?

All of them. I get Fox News on SiriusXM sat. radio, when driving or able to use a smartphone or computer.
The only TV I “watch” is what I see out of the corner of my eye when my wife is watching TCM, Masterpiece Theater, or crime shows. The internet is my boob tube.
Must Have TCM. No commercials and good OLD uncut movies.
AMC, IFC, Sundance all used to be good till they went commercial now they are trash.
It is not all that great.
Unless you are into air disasters.
There is maybe two shows a week that are actually something worth watching.
Aerial America is kind of pretty the first time through.
“All, for years now.”
I’m with ya. Got rid of cable TV (and all TV) Dec. 2004 and have never missed it since.
I remember the days I had cable TV and just clicking through the channels over and over and never finding anything worth while watching.
Just need internet for work & fun.
Gave up cable years ago. I now have rokutv.Hundreds of channels cheap(some free).
An elderly family member pays $150 a month for 300 channels. She just watches local news, EWTN, Hallmark Channel, Fox News and then listens to a soft music stations. A total of 5 channels are used regularly.
The future is bright and will leave cable tv in the dust.
“I remember the first time my son beat me down the ski slopes and could hit a fast ball I could barely even see!”
Yep. Me too. I loved it, as I’m sure you did. It’s very sobering though.
I can live without damned near all of them. Were it not for my wife, I would have cut the cable cord years ago.
Haven’t watched CNN, ESPN, or MSNBC in 20+ years.
Never watch Univision because I don’t speak Spanish.
The rest of the networks are expendable too.
Even Faux Snooze sucks anymore.
Yeah...I think those were bigger milestones than so many other “rights of passage.”
Indeed!
Yep...I found that I don’t watch Fox either and am just as happy. Can’t stand faggot boy Shep Sodomite.
I’m doing without ALL of them since I quit watching TV in 2008. Don’t miss it.
I do watch movies via mailed DVDs from Netflix. But I can watch only movies I want to watch and watch them on my schedule.
Re: “Many of us who have to buy some kind of cable television ...”
No one has to buy cable. The last I check no one had a gun pointed at their head forcing them to buy cable.
Spanish channels have women with nice figures they show off compared to American actresses today.
I have a friend who forgot to pay his cable bill. All he could watch was the Spanish religious channel.
And on the novelas, there’s no faggotry, unlike the shows on the English channels.
Oh dear Gunner... how sweet of you to be concerned ;)
I just use computer for it all. No need for TV cable.
So much crap/multiple reruns of reruns of reruns...that I usually have the TV on as “company” while I read/do crosswords and other such stuff - could just as easily have it on a music channel....
