Rather than a separate freepmail, I’ll ping my list here, so Happy New Year from AZ where it’s 65 and sunny.
Now, for predictions:
Too early, so don’t hold me to these, but just a guess at this point:
*Rs in the House lose a few seats, retain control
*Rs gain 5 or even more in the Senate (several Trumpers, such as Marsha Blackburn, and, I think, Rick Scott who will run).
*Trump will get some “infrastructure” bill with some D support.
*In the infrastructure bill, he will get more Wall construction and funding.
*From now on, I think the ONLY way any rebellious blue state gets fed funds is in huge tradeoffs by their reps in terms of immigration cave ins, more swamp drainage and vetting/reduction of immigrants and vote fraud. In short, they will get temporary money at the expense of long term disadvantage.
*I don’t know why, but this keeps coming up: in the Obamacare decision by Roberts, the Court in a momentous decision said that you CANNOT use the “commerce clause” to advance these kinds of programs. This has been lost in the taxation element of the decision, which was as we know bad. Still, SOMEHOW I think we are going to start seeing Trump’s judges (and he’s packin’ em in, folks: another 4th Circuit opening appeared two days ago) dramatically reduce the size and scope of the government merely by this mechanism.
*Unfortunately, I don’t see us getting out of 2018 without some military confrontation with the NORK fatboy. Course, I would have said the same thing about Iran just two weeks ago! We all know the “best” solution to the NORK problem would be selective, er, “removal” of Fatboy Slim and his Heavies, but I don’t think DT dares risk impeachment over violating that law. The NORK people won’t rise up like the Iranians-—too much control over media there.
So, just guessing, I think this will be the issue that either keeps DT in office or opens a window for them to get him. While everyone in Congress knows we can’t let Fatboy move his program forward much more, the “no foreign wars” crowd on the Right and ALL Ds will be champing at the bit to remove him if he does anything that commits any American troops in any way, even commando raids. This will be the toughest nut he has to crack as President.
*Oh, and movies will begin to make a comeback with conservative films being offered in unique venues that end-run traditional theater chains.

There was some psychic on FNC lastnight who said DJT would be hit with sexual claims and this would b a very bad year for him. I don’t know who the heck this person was or if they were being silly. I tend not to believe this sort of thing.
I pray this Mueller investigation ends with mud on the legal team’s faces!

Might that also include making English the official language of the US - first as established by E.O., followed by legislation in Congress? We got close in 1996 when the House passed it, but Senate did not take up the issue.

The DemonRAT’s traitorous us of the NORK situation as an impeachment trap has been their behavior for eons. They would risk the security of their fellow Americans for political advantage. The call for more sanctions has been revealed as a fantasy. Countries will help the NORKs go around any sanctions. Sanctions are a means to run the clock.
I predict the Pig will attack with a EMP device. It does not require a heavy warhead which requires a more powerful delivery vehicle. It could be launched off a container ship.
We are told they are working on the warhead design which would withstand the necessary reentry phase to its target. This is all deception to take us off their true intent. An EMP warhead does not have to reenter the atmosphere. They are going for the EMP. Do they have an EMP that works? I am sure, if they don’t have one, Russia or China might supply a few.
Because an EMP pulse can be generated out of the atmosphere, they would be impossible to trace where it came from. The capability the NORKs have now, tells me that an EMP attack could happen right now. Time is wasting. A surgical MOAB strike to roast the Pig in a pit needs to happen as quickly as possible. All we need is the Pig’s location for the special delivery.
What about a retaliative move against South Korea? We can use EMP against the NORKs. NORK retaliative capability will be rendered into useless scrap metal.
We have EMPs with very selective capabilities. They do not have to take out the entire nation’s electronics. Our technology is very advanced. All those NORK missile launchers poised to take out South Korea, will be rendered useless from a few well delivered cruise missiles, with microwave EMPs knocking out all the fire control systems in its path. And our EMP can cut.
Senate, we will/must/should gain 5 or hopefully more, so many targets, can’t afford to blow it.
House, single digit net loss.
I don’t see how a President could be removed over lawful exercising of his power vis-a-vis military conflict.
Gaining five in the Senate would be amazing. I’ve been nervous about us losing it.
Don’t you think a lot depends on what gets done this year? If our lazy do-nothing Congress keeps doing nothing, I would imagine they can expect some turnover.

Democrats will shut down gov’t in an attempt to get Trump to agree to amnesty.
Trump will go to the American people, and tell him he intends to keep the gov’t going without any delays or loss of pay.
Trump will systematically start shutting down gov’t jobs and dept that are not necessary proving to the AMerican public that the federal gov’t is bloated.
Trump will look at privatizing Amtrak lines, Post Office etc.

Trump will do what’s right on N. Korea at the correct point in time, based on US intelligence reporting to him and his basic gut instinct which is seldom wrong. Regardless of what anyone says in order to try to stop him from doing so, anyone.
Trump will ignore the naysayers and those who threaten him with impeachment or whatever, and will do what is right for this country and by default, the global community. And Trump will eliminate the North Korean nuclear threat one way or the other, before he is out of office. History, in retrospect should praise him for taking the bull by the horns and eliminating the threat of N. Korea and its nukes from the vernacular of current global threats. Trump will do it because he knows he’s the only one on the current global political scene with the b*lls and guts to do so.
It is like when Israel, over global condemnation for doing so at the time, took out first an Iraq nuclear reactor in 1981 and then a Russian built Syrian site in 2007, for which the global community should have thanked their lucky stars that Israel eliminated these threats to world peace, but of course they minimized any praise (that they secretly actually feel) of Israel because the majority of the world is chock full of anti-Semites.
Trump will do what is right regardless of the naysayers and the world will one day thank him too, if they are at all honest, but probably won’t unless the actual historical results forces them to do so. And then they will most likely damn him with faint praise.
