When I was 23 years old, my boss would look down the gap at the waistband of my jeans when he walked past my desk. I was an entry-level fact-checker at my first magazine job, and he was an older and more powerful editor. My career, at the time, was in his hands. Once, when we had finished working on a story together, he suggested we get a drink to celebrate. It was a Friday night, and I remember feeling extremely nervous as we sat across from each other in a dark bar. He was flirting with me, I could tell. The next weekend, he asked me out again. A few days later, he kissed me on the steps of the West 4th subway station without first getting my consent. Weve now been happily married for 14 years and have three children.

Betas and below are predators.
Well, she probably would not have wanted to date someone like me who owns guns and has voted for Canadian politicians named Preston, Mike, Stockwell, and Stephen, lol. But hey, I don’t think I would have kissed her without her consent.
Better a marriage than a molestation but still.
This is playing with plutonium.
Women are attracted to men who are willing to take risks to win them.
Man has been playing with plutonium since the beginning of time. He just never realized it.......
Why don't I think this was her first time?
Only if they are initially attracted to them. Those betas do take risks, but now their reward will be a loss of jobs, assets and jail time.
Also called "Tickling the Dragon's tail".
Well he could leer or he could buy her a $20,000 ring. The second is a classier risk.
She could tell he was flirting. Air-head alert.
Translation: I was one of the thousands of liberal young women who went into journalism and slept my way to a better career.
I’m thinking of “Calvin and Hobbes” and the wonderful game of CalvinBall. In that game, each player can make up any rule at any time. It’s joyful chaos.
What we have in the dating world is one-sided CalvinBall. The women make up all the rules. Alpha males can get dates and do a little flirting. Betas are predators and harassers. If things don’t work out, maybe the man goes to jail (”rape! rape!”) or the woman gets the house, the boat, the kids, and half his money.
None of this ever seems to go the man’s way.
Which is one major reason there is so much work being done in the area of sex robots. See, if men don’t like the rules of the game, we can always decide not to play the game.
And I can tell you I know a lot of single men who are quite happy. No game? No worries. But single women? Pretty much 100% bitter, angry people who feel that they missed out on all the good stuff. But that’s what you get for making up rules for a game that no one wants to play.
You don’t get your honey where you get your money. Everybody knows that.
I was dating a girl that came to work for the textile mill where I was working. We had to keep it quiet. She asked about me and discovered I was gay and sleeping with a married woman in data entry
Sound advice from my dad: don't dip your pen in the company ink well.
Managing in an office wherein there is an interoffice romance going is quite an adventure too. A married guy who worked for me had a romance with someone in a neighboring office who was also married. He used to brag about it often. I took him aside and pointed out that his paramour was married to a hot head. I told him I did not want to catch a round meant for him at work from his paramour’s husband. I said if the thought of that did not deter him, consider he had a $750K house which he would surely lose as he and his wife had 3 teenagers at home and since he was close to retirement, half his pension. The big head won out, he stopped the affair.
Wait....leaning in to attempt a kiss requires verbal permission now?
He was still guilty of sexual harassment. She just didn’t complain.
I found my wife at the company I worked for,, neither of us was in a position of authority..
Been married to her for 42 years now.
BTW, she's still outranks me....
