The Syrian army has fired at least four surface-to-air missiles at Israeli aircraft as the regime launched an attack against the western countryside of Syria’s capital Damascus, reports say.
The Arabic-language al-Masdar news agency, citing an unnamed source, said the Syrian military's anti-aircraft missiles were fired from the Mezzeh Airbase in rural Damascus in the early hours of Saturday.
The source added that an Israeli fighter jet was flying at a low altitude over Lebanon’s Baalbek region near Syria's border when the Syrian missiles were launched.
The news agency, citing an unnamed military source, reported that a number of Israeli missiles were fired toward the 1st Division ammo depot in the western countryside of Damascus, adding that the Syrian Air Defense managed to intercept some of the projectiles before hitting their designated target.
However, some of the missiles hit their intended target, causing loud explosions near the towns of Kesweh and Sahnaya, the source further added.

Israel has a history of blowing up nerve gas ammo dumps in their neighborhood.

Makes no sense. Why fly to Lebanon to shoot at Damascus? Besides that is Way too far to shoot.

Oh, well. I have friends in Israel. The fact that none have responded to my inquiries suggests they are all sleeping peacefully and no major battles have broken out. :)
Maybe. ( firing from afar would be logical to provide more time to avoid any enemy fire but on the other hand the IDF can neutralize that if it wishes so—�?) I dunno - I only read what we are fed

Because the AD guys wouldn’t expect an approach from Lebanon. And they couldn’t see them until they were almost back to Leb.
Yes..... tend to think they probably did take out ‘something’ in that area. Israel isn’t going to let the Iranian base stand as it appears to be ongoing to establish it so close to them . Diplomacy takes quite awhile and though the issue of the base is on the table they’re not going to take unnecessary risks that endangers their people....neither would we.
We have several posters who bring articles without considering the source....ABC and CNN articles always oppose Trump and anything he’s doing. Press TV is a bad source for anything.
