The Fake News Media’s “Flirty” Floodgates Are Opening Up Wide

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

I suppose that yesterday, November 29, 2017, will forever be remembered as the day the floodgates truly began to open for the fake news media, which is apparently nothing more than a boiling cesspool of sexual abuse in the workplace. First NBC’s venerable ultra-liberal Today Show host Matt Lauer, then commie long-time radio performer Garrison Keillor (I had thought he was dead – go figure), then NPR Chief Fake News Editor David Sweeney, and finally CNN’s Teddy Davis, the producer of Jake Tapper’s daily low-rated fake news-fest, gone, all gone, in a furious flurry of sexual harassment payback mania.

One can only wonder where it will all go from here. For example, when will police in New York City (where NBC is located), Minneapolis (Keillor’s base of operations, as it were), Atlanta (CNN’s home) and Washington, DC (where NPR sucks up its taxpayer dollars) begin opening criminal investigations into all the fake media sexual abuse? After all, the Los Angeles Police Department recently announced it has no fewer than 28 active criminal investigations into all the sex abuse charges that have been leveled at Harvey Weinstein and myriad other Hollywood hot shots – won’t the same elements of the law apply to all these fake journalists and mediocre entertainers?

Hey, before you even think about it, don’t any of you Lauer lovers try to tell anyone that it’s not the same thing, that the allegations against him don’t rise to the same level as those targeting Weinstein. Lauer is a guy who insisted that NBC install a secret button under his desktop that allowed him to remotely lock his office door once an unsuspecting victim had entered his lair. What in the hell did NBC’s executives think he wanted that for? Plus, we have even more allegations against Lauer leaking out this morning. So, please, spare us.

And what of all these morning “news and talk” programs in general? We have now had three major figures – Mark Halperin of MSNBC’s Morning Joe, CBS’s Morning host Charlie Rose, and now Lauer – knocked off because they are, well, monsters. How many more monsters lurk out there amidst all the snark, wine guzzling, fake laughter and phony on-camera camaraderie that goes on on those sets each morning? How long can it be before we find out the hard way?

Also, what’s up at 30 Rock? As already noted, two of the big media muckety-mucks who have now gone down – Lauer and Halperin – were NBC people. Let us also never forget that NBC was the network that attempted to bury Ronan Farrow’s original investigative report on Harvey Weinstein, claiming it was not ready to be aired. Farrow then took the story to The New Yorker, which almost immediately took it to press.

Was NBC News President Andy Lack – who hilariously claimed yesterday to have been blissfully unaware of Lauer’s horrible behavior – in fact nervous about having Lauer being forced to report on Weinstein in great depth and detail? How would that have worked? Would he have been able to keep a straight face while pretending to condemn Weinstein’s behavior? Would he have required an off-air coach to teach him the proper facial expressions to mimic while doing his “reporting?” In any event, it is becoming uncomfortably evident that NBC has a culture problem that needs to be addressed pretty quick, because the thought that Lack or anyone else who worked with Lauer had no idea about his behavior is patently absurd.

For those of us out here in flyover country, the moral to this accelerating fake news media sex abuse extravaganza is the old “those who live in glass houses should not be throwing stones” deal. Lauer, Halperin and Rose have all sat there for many years in their fancy broadcast sets with their pancake makeup and carefully coiffed hair (yes, Lauer used to have hair), lecturing and preaching to ordinary Americans about how they need to behave, not just in the workplace, but in every aspect of their daily lives. But, as so often turns out to be the case in this crazy life, it turns out that many of those doing the lecturing and preaching are the very worst actors imaginable.

In response to all of yesterday’s revelations, longtime muckraker Geraldo Rivera said in a tweet that “News is a flirty business.” Given what we are all starting to find out about the culture that exists inside these big fake news operations, I think he just misspelled “dirty”.

Just another day in fake news media downfall America.

That is all.

>>November 29, 2017, will forever be remembered as the day the floodgates truly began to open for the fake news media,

If Dan Ratherbiased’s October Surprise with forged national guard memos faxed from a Kinko’s in Waco didn’t do it, and the exposure of Journolist conspiracy to spin the day’s news and press conferences didn’t do it, and the chart showing how every network was in bed with in the Obama White House by blood or marriage, and the emails showing that CNN colluded with the DNC and Hillary Clinton campaign to steal the DNC primary in 2016, then a bunch of people diddling co-workers for 20 years (dating back to the Clinton impeachment) is not going to do it.

It’s the Don Henley song “Dirty Laundry” all over again.
I loved that song.

The Media, who made and broke politicians to create national policy, thought they were invincible.

They were, for about 50 years. Talk radio, the Internet, and the remnants of the Constitution and free market brought about enough fractures in their control of the flow of information, to bring them down.

Um, do you know Henley's background?

Here's wiki’s sanitized version:

Henley called paramedics to his home on November 21, 1980, where a 16-year-old girl was found naked and claiming she had overdosed on quaaludes and cocaine. She was arrested for prostitution, while a 15-year-old girl found in the house was arrested for being under the influence of drugs. He was subsequently charged for contributing to the delinquency of a minor, fined and put on probation.[75][76][77] Henley was arrested and pleaded no contest. He was fined $2,500 and put on two years’ probation.[78] Chiles, who was no longer in a relationship with Henley at the time of the incident, later said, “I was shocked to hear about it. He didn't have drugs around the house. It was an accident, I'm sure.”[74]

Out to dinner last night seated next to 3 millennial girls. Of course they start in on Trump... “He said in the Hollywood access tape, he's a sexual predator, he shouldn't say anything... blah blah blah. Then one says she loves Biden... Such a statesman... And one loved McCain... Why does Trump tweet so much??? Hillary should have won... Trump's supporters were brainwashed..."

Painful to listen to. I didn't want to get in an all out fight with these girls, but our table did talk about the crybabies in the NFL and Hillary's upcoming indictment. They changed the subject to vacations about that time.

Stupidity sure is alive and well in this millennial group!!

Oh, now I vaguely remember that - what I probably heard was quite sanitized at the time.

Getting closer to why SNL did not tear into Harvey Weinstein, and why the wacky Baldwin is tolerated
