They have no intention of giving Donald Trump a clear victory even if said victory would be of great benefit to the American Middle Class. Instead, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and fellow GOP Senators Bob Corker and Jeff Flake, among others, are creating further dissention in the hopes of stalling or even halting the proposed tax cuts legislation altogether.
McConnell is presently calling the process challenging while Corker and Flake are claiming to have concerns over the tax cuts worsening the deficit. That claim is especially astounding from Senator Corker given he was only too happy to allow former POTUS Barack Obama to spend the nation into deficit oblivion. Now with Donald Trump in the White House Mr. Corker has suddenly become an increasingly outspoken deficit hawk. Both Corker and Flake, who are unpopular with voters in their respective homes states of Tennessee and Arizona, have openly shared with the Establishment Media their dislike of President Trump.
Over the weekend the Trump White House sent surrogates to speak directly to operatives in McConnells office to try and ensure passage of the proposed tax cut legislation before the holiday recess. Those surrogates are said to have returned from that meeting grim-faced. McConnell is said to be seriously considering letting the entirety of the legislative attempt go down much like what he did with the attempt to repeal Obamacare earlier this year.
One ally among the GOP leadership who appears willing to work directly with the Trump White House is South Dakota Senator John Thune. He has his work cut out for him though as a handful of other senators like Maines Susan Collins and Jerry Moran of Kansas who have indicated they want to see the Obamacare mandate protected and not made part of the tax reform legislation as it is currently written. (Yes, you read that right. Republicans are now openly advocating FOR Obamacare in order to spite Trump.)
This week will prove critical to the tax cuts/reform legislation. If a deal is not at least tentatively struck by Friday, the chances of anything happening in 2017 become increasingly unlikely as the do-nothing Republican Congress continues to try and stop the America-First Trump agenda.
Dont know what will end up happening but if you look at this website, DC Whispers, it is clear-it is a propaganda site. Why would you believe anyone pimping a political position?
In the 2018 elections:
Great pic. All of this just keeps bringing home we need term limits and an Article V Convention of States.
I can't speak to Alexander but unless the South Carolina legislature gets their cojones and stuff together and outlaws open primaries, Graham will likely be reelected in 2020. And he knows it. And, unfortunately, acts it.
Trump knows of the PPACA problems:

I’ll look again for a possible sponsor in the White House.
Sending stuff to federal elected officials themselves just generates for/against statistics.
Thank you.
All the GOP wants is to get Trump. That’s it.
What other conclusion can you draw?
When was the last time you heard a Congressman or Senator say, "I wholeheartedly support Trump's agenda. The people voted for him and want the MAGA agenda as he's outlined carried out. I support every aspect of his agenda as outlined at his website. I am going to do my best to make sure the MAGA and the Patriots of America's agenda passed. Just watch my voting record and you will see I am serious. Thank you and good night."
So, the future of the country hangs on a pissing match.

So does the future of the GOP. After 11 months of doing nothing, failure to pass meaningful tax cuts will destroy the GOP. And rightfully so. I mean, who would ever believe anything they say from here on out? They will have demolished any shred of credibility they may have once had. I don’t see them recovering from this kind of debacle.
On the other hand, I don’t think anyone will blame Trump. They know he tried and got zero cooperation or support from his own party. They obstructed him at every turn.
We will remember this betrayal.
Indeed we will. And yes, I think most people see Trump as trying to get things past and five or so people keep saying no just to spite him. Mitch will be out in 2018.
Things take so long to change in Washington D.C. The swamp has a deep case of inertia. They love their 3 Trillion a year tax base that they see as their money to spend.
Get things passed. .
