The network claimed LaFave risked killing himself when engaging in the sex act and his actions constituted an “intentionally self-inflicted injury,” which is not covered under their policy because it is not an “unanticipated accident.”
He was found partially kneeling, hanging from a wire closet shelf in his hotel room by a scarf tied around his neck, the lawsuit claims.
LaFave was wearing a slip, brassiere, women’s underwear and pantyhose, and multiple other scarves were tied around his crotch and lower half at the time of his death.

If it wasn’t suicide sounds like she has a decent case this should have been covered under his accidental death policy. And suicide is covered after 2 years under most policies.

I could see an attorney arguing that the guy did not intend to kill himself and it was an accidental death akin to a heroin overdose. The guy was addicted to the rush that apparently happens when someone does this. If the insurance company has covered accidental drug overdoses in the past, they may have a tough time explaining how this is different.
