The network claimed LaFave risked killing himself when engaging in the sex act and his actions constituted an intentionally self-inflicted injury, which is not covered under their policy because it is not an unanticipated accident.
He was found partially kneeling, hanging from a wire closet shelf in his hotel room by a scarf tied around his neck, the lawsuit claims.
LaFave was wearing a slip, brassiere, womens underwear and pantyhose, and multiple other scarves were tied around his crotch and lower half at the time of his death.

Of course I didn't read the article. Nobody's got time for 'dat.

How was I to know?
Clearly accidental. Was probably researching a story or some such.
We had a CO tech pull that off in the cable vault in Laud years ago.
Bet his wife would be PO’d knowing all she got wa this crappy life insurance
And how was CBS responsible for this perverted employee’s death?
It turns out terminal stupidity is NOT a covered event.
Good to know — this lawsuit hasn’t got a chance.
Yea probably trying to see if the rumors were true !!
CBS life insurance.
Are we sure Harvey Weinstein or Bill Clinton wasn’t somewhere else at the time?
I guess he didnt know if he was coming or going...
Isn’t this basically how they found David Carradine?
...and Michael Hutchence?
If it wasn’t suicide sounds like she has a decent case this should have been covered under his accidental death policy. And suicide is covered after 2 years under most policies.
LOL! Best one today.
“David Carradine?”
Yup. In Thailand for a film.
Thats Lawrence on the left. Thats his clothes on the right.

I could see an attorney arguing that the guy did not intend to kill himself and it was an accidental death akin to a heroin overdose. The guy was addicted to the rush that apparently happens when someone does this. If the insurance company has covered accidental drug overdoses in the past, they may have a tough time explaining how this is different.
From wiki: Author George Shuman describes the effect as such, “When the brain is deprived of oxygen, it induces a lucid, semi-hallucinogenic state called hypoxia. Combined with orgasm, the rush is said to be no less powerful than cocaine, and highly addictive.”
Baffling to me even more so than shooting heroin or cocaine... bizarro.
