It’s a November sort of day…
A good day for raking leaves and making soup. The leaves are easy, but what kind of soup?
Beef barley?
Borscht?
Split pea?
Carrot ginger?
Aren’t the colors and textures of fall awesome? Today I’m just going to enjoy them, and when the early darkness creeps in I’ll dine on whatever soup emerges from my simmering pot before curling up to re-read Ann of Green Gables.

Yesterday I cooked a spiral cut ham. Today, split pea soup(stew) in the 12 quart stockpot. Best frozen dinner there is!
Soup. soup, beautiful soup....
Apropos of absolutely nothing at all:
The friends of an older gentleman, about to surprise him for his eightieth birthday, though it may quite a thing to hire the services of a quality lady for rent. She showed up at his door, and when he answered the door, she announced that she was there “to give you your choice of super sex”.
The gentleman looked puzzled for a minute, then replied, “If it’s all the same to you, I’d just as soon have the soup.”
Clam chowder, bean and ham, chili, beef stew (is that soup?)....YUM
