Congress Probes Whether Obama DOJ Used The ‘Trump Dossier’ Before Surveillance Court
The Daily Caller ^ | 19 Oct 2017 | Richard Pollock

Both the House and the Senate are investigating whether the former President Barack Obama’s administration used intelligence in a salacious “Trump Dossier” as “evidence” before a secret federal surveillance court to obtain permission to spy on Donald Trump campaign aides and later his transition team.

Leaders in Congress are trying to find out if the Obama Justice Department and the FBI introduced the totally unsubstantiated material alleging unsavory connections between Trump and Russia before the Federal Intelligence Surveillance Court, congressional aides told The Daily Caller News Foundation.

The FBI used the dossier to secure permission to monitor the communications of Trump associate Carter Page, based on U.S. officials briefed on the Russia investigation, CNN reported in April.

The latest inquiries began Oct. 4, when the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence subpoenaed Fusion GPS, a political opposition research firm based in Washington, D.C., to appear before the committee and turn over bank documents. The committee is also seeking all Justice Department applications before the Federal Intelligence Surveillance Court, also called the FISA court, to determine if any of the applicants rely on information from the dossier.

Republican Sen. Chuck Grassley of Iowa, chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, asked FBI Director Christopher Wray Oct. 4 if the FBI may have improperly presented any of the dossier information to the FISA court.

The presentation of evidence before the special surveillance court would have been FBI-generated documents delivered by Obama Justice Department attorneys, according to a congressional source familiar with evidence requirements before the court. At the time, FBI Director James Comey presided over the bureau and Attorney General Loretta Lynch oversaw the Justice Department.

The answer is a simple “yes.” The FBI included this information in its official materials on Trump, and John McCain helped make sure of that.

0bama and his minions were fine with the “Trumped up” materials because they helped legitimize access to all of the Trump campaign’s communications—likely even allowing open phone taps (listening to phones that appear “off”).

The entire Establishment was in on this.

I still recall how a substitute host for Rush had on his close friend who was a “former NSA analyst” who maintained that the bad stuff they had on Trump was “devastating.” Of course, the NSA analyst was a NeverTrumper. He said both Hillary and Donald were “compromised,” but that Trump was even worse off than Hillary when it came to the Russians.

I downloaded that hour and need to transcribe it sometime. The guy was completely bonkers over Trump’s Russian situation. It was about two months before the election, as I recall.

I’m keeping my fingers crossed that AG Sessions has taken action to have the DOJ investigate not only this issue but also Uraniumgate. He hinted at this in yesterday’s testimony. If he hasn’t, it’s a disgrace.

Has Barry fled to Dubai yet? You know that’s going to happen. At least the country (except for the 20% or so brain dead ultra-leftists) will be convinced that the democrat party is the party of organized crime.

If there were such materials on Trump available BEFORE the election, you can be certain they would have been leaked to throw the election. Also, given McCain’s admitted involvement in obtaining this fraudulent dossier (apparently out of his near constant pique at real Republicans and endless bootlicking of the Dems and the “media”, he should be interviewed by the congressional investigative staffs while he still can answer questions. Maybe he’s past that point now, he doesn’t sound good in his interviews.

BINGO! We have a winner. When the Congress of the USA can’t obtain information from the FBI, there are major problems. Despite the information is not active and possible includes crimes no one can obtain the information. Head of DOJ Sessions can’t obtain this information. He has made no attempt as he could easily obtain the information. POTUS Trump can order the information be released. He hasn’t made any moves to speed this up. The only reason the entire activity is heating up is to cover up something else. timing is everything.

Congress has only referral powers... to the Department of Just Us.

Which tooth will be pulled from Sessions to get him off the beach and interested in the main game?

If you have a timestamp on that download, the transcribed interview is probably already available.

At this point they were accepting that Trump had a good chance of winning and they were willing to do anything to stop him. They knew if Hillary won they’d be safe. Obviously they were very worried if Trump won.

It’s already worse than Watergate, but politics is so corrupt today, not even the victimized party seems in any hurry to bring anyone to justice over it.

They probably did use it, since they were so sure Hillary would win the election, and no investigations would ever be forthcoming. It would all be swept under the rug.
