Immediately following reports of Harvey Weinsteins alleged decades of sexual harassment and sexual assault, Anthony Bourdain rallied for people to support Weinsteins accusers. That very large group includes Bourdains girlfriend, Asia Argento, and Bourdain hopes that people wont remain silent on the issue. And since Weinstein has donated to many Democrat candidates (including Hillary Clinton) over the years, the former Democratic nominees slow response drew a lot of criticism both for its tardiness and brevity.
On Tuesday, Clinton told CNNs Fareed Zakaria that she was just sick. I was shocked. I was appalled. Clinton also said that she certainly wasnt aware of the sexual harassment and only knew him primarily through politics.
This response was not adequate enough for Bourdain, who expressed his disappointment in a series of tweets. He called her response shameful in its deflection and its disingenuousness and said that he hoped for more from her, given that he believes her to be one of the most intelligent, well prepared, well briefed politicians ever.
(TWEETS-AT-LINK)
Following Bourdains rant, former Clinton campaign spokesman Brian Fallon tweeted that Bourdain should go eat a scorpion or something.
Clinton has committed to donating her contributions from Weinstein to womens organizations, although her delayed response drew more attention than the actions that followed.
Hillary figured it would quickly blow over like it always did for Bill. No big deal. Then she realized she was going to have to pretend she cared.
Bourdain is an unabashed liberal. I’ve always liked him though.
I’m happy to hear this.
Part of the liberal criticism of Trump, regarding Charlottsville, was that he didn’t respond quickly enough or forcefully enough, in condemning perpetrators there.
Ok, then, if the criteria to follow, is that we are supposed to respond quickly and forcefully to matters which come up in the news, then HIllary is guilty of not responding quickly and forcefully on the Weinstein issue.
BEST COSTUME EVER!!!
I liked his show on those rare occasions I saw it. He went to interesting places and explored interesting foods. He always came across as very arrogant though. The only time I saw Charlie Rose in the past 16 years or so (gave up ‘tv news’ after its 24-7 gary condit perseveration fetish) was when he had Anthony Bourdain on. Anthony Bourdain actually came across as a decent humble person on that show.
Bourdains a liberal goofus but at least he isn’ as wretched a Hillary.
Imagine Hillary as Bourdain
Let’s make some cookies and drink vodka... I said make me cookies yo deplorable!
Bourdain actually worked at his show. He travelled and explored. He went to Saudi Arabia and to Ted Nugent’s ranch. Hillary just expects your fealty based on her pedigree.
I know.
I want his job.
He whines a bit much but Hillary whines incessantly an never touches the unwashed masses
Can’t stand the druggie. He’s rude and is a bad drunk. I am surprised he’s badmouthing Hellary.
Just keep smoking those m-boro reds and drinking that booze Tony...
Hillary... keep up those boozy diatribes we’ve all come to love...
I saw some intellectual black man tonight that wrote a book called “we had power for 8 years”
The guys still a liberal goober but the realty that Obama did nothing for Black America other than kick them and use them is settling in..
I see Bourdain the same way
Living by leftist principles his entire life, Bourdain expresses outrage when it affects him personally. This coming from a man who publicly suggested poisoning the President.
Said he was paying for her kid's nanny and she felt obligated.
No sympathy.
The same guy that got tricked into eating a warthog’s asshole?
Already posted.
Nope.
I’m with you. Can’t stand him.
