Hillary Clinton figuratively took a knee Monday night.
The former presidential candidate pledged her support to the hundreds of NFL players who have protested during the national anthem this season while speaking at the University of California, Davis.
"Let's be clear, those players aren't protesting the national anthem or the flag," Clinton said. "They're protesting racism and injustice, and they have every right to do so!"
The 2016 democratic nominee received a loud applause after her announcement.
Clinton's support of anthem protests is a sharp contrast to her counterpart Donald Trump's stance on the matter. Trump has repeatedly criticized players who protest during the national anthem.
Ironically only hours prior to Clinton's speech, Trump once again addressed the matter on Twitter, praising Cowboys owner Jerry Jones who announced he would bench any player who kneeled or sat during the anthem.
“A big salute to Jerry Jones, owner of the Dallas Cowboys,” Trump wrote, “who will BENCH players who disrespect our Flag. "Stand for Anthem or sit for game!"”
Earlier in her speech Clinton revealed a number of the alleged Russian-linked Twitter accounts that meddled in the presidential election also 'inflamed' arguments related to the national anthem protests debate.
"Just a couple of weeks ago, accounts with suspected links to Russia flooded Twitter with posts about NFL players' peaceful protests," Clinton said. "The Russians posted on both sides of the debate using hashtags like #StandForOurAnthem or #TakeAKnee to inflame passions and stir up disagreements."
Clinton also spoke about how we as a country need to stand up against racist, sexist and homophobic rhetoric and not undo the progress we have made in recent years.
“There is a concerted effort to turn back the clock on civil rights and women’s rights and gay rights and religious rights," Clinton said, "and we cannot let that happen.”
As of late Monday evening, Trump has yet to address Clinton's comments on Twitter.
Translation: I support everyone who hates America as much as I do.
Not really. The employer has every right to fire an employee who is acting as an activist during work hours.
Sure. They do have every right to do it.
Doesn’t mean they aren’t spineless, ungrateful, hateful jack-wagons.
But it’s their right...
The guy who started it says he IS protesting the anthem and the flag.
Doesn’t matter what they think they are protesting. They are choosing to do so during the anthem and they are thus disrespecting the anthem and the flag.
They have the right to do so. And their employers have the right to fire them. And NFL fans have a right to switch to hockey.

The protest was started by a terrible QB who took bad advice from his racist, muslim girlfriend.
The protest was always about hating America and whitey.
I agree, but First Amendment protections are not in the workplace, where you are an at-will employee.
You can say whatever you want, but the employer can fire your butt, and the First Amendment is not a defense against that.
She wanted the country to self destruct by voting for her, it only makes sense she would want the NFL to self destruct by getting rid of the same constituents the Democrats dumped long ago.

Of course Hillary hates America for rejecting her.
The same hatred as Jimmah Carter has felt since 1980, for the same reason. And he has been undermining American interests around the world since then.
But it’s karmic; the more noise H-Beast makes, the stupider she sounds and the more grateful the rest of us become.

How does this white cracker women know they are not protesting the anthem and the flag? It seems on the face of it, that is exactly what they are doing.
