I had an email from a lefty friend late yesterday, an email that ended with an expression of this person’s feeling that “we really need to have a national dialogue about guns.” That sounded suspiciously like the leftist talking point started by Tom Brokaw Monday morning and parroted by pretty much every Democrat politician and fake journalist who can still utter coherent sentences – which obviously excludes Nancy Pelosi – but I didn’t say that to this person.
Instead, my reply was very brief: “Ok, I’ll start. You can’t have my guns. Great talk.” Thus, my lefty friend may now be just a lefty acquaintance, I’m not sure, since I never got a reply. I suppose I’ll find out in due time.
This is really the only reply conservatives can offer to lefties on this subject, for one simple reason: the leftist heart is not pure on this subject.
This lack of purity of intentions becomes manifestly obvious every time we have a tragic event like the Las Vegas massacre, and every leftwinger in the country knee jerks to offering logic-devoid sophistries about the “need for more gun control” before we even know the name of the maniac who perpetrated the act.
The Las Vegas shooter is a great example of leftists’ lockstep refusal to deal with facts. Due to his work history, which included stints at the U.S. Postal Service, the IRS and a defense contractor, and in the process of legally acquiring his massive stash of firearms, we now know this scumbag somehow managed to pass more than 30 FBI background checks during his life. He obtained his guns in states with some of the most restrictive gun laws in the country, dotted every ‘I’, crossed every ‘T’, and was able to accumulate an arsenal. Y

1962; “We don’t want to take away your guns, we ONLY want to register handguns! Rifles and shotguns will not be affected”.
1964: “We only want to register all your guns, not ban them! Only Army surplus guns will be banned.”
1968: “We only want to register your guns, and ban “Saturday Night Specials” and small foreign handguns along with army surplus rifles!” (They got the ban on 5 shot army surplus rifles and handguns and small foreign pistols)
1970: “We only want to ban Saturday night specials! Large handguns and rifles will not be affected!”
1976: “We only want to ban all handguns! Long guns will not be affected!”

2012 calls for MORE bans on semi auto rifles and handguns. If you can’t ban them then go after ammo limits, the magazines and styles of the stocks.

Well...the gungrabbers had eight years of Obama and two years of Democratic control of Congress and little transpired at the national level other than the usual namecalling.
Again, a few states have passed nefarious laws (criminalizing what had been legal to own) but they are lagging in their will to enforce them.
The worst that can happen IMO in the aftermath of this horrible massacre will be a ban on “bumpfire” buttstocks. Even that won’t survive a court challenge since the stock does not alter the rifle in any way and because our legislative process lacks the sheer arbitrariness of the British or Australian systems.
If Diane Feinstein herself became Dear Leader and declared “Mr. & Mrs. America, turn ‘em all in!” (she really did say that), the attempt to enforce that would become a manpower and logistical and litigious nightmare that would bring this country to the brink of chaos & civil war.
Right now, anyone with an NRA sticker on their car should remove it. Watch for radical clergy invading gun stores. Liberal editors did publish names & addresses of CCW holders but backed off when THEIR homes & addresses suddenly appeared on Google Streetview. Gungrabbers are capable of pinpricks & little else. Moms Against Guns is pathetic & fun to watch.
Gun owners’ comments on the internet are universally defiant. Remember Democrats in Congress who lost their jobs in 1994 after they voted for AWB? That was gun owning voters putting teeth in their belief.
Most laughable of all are goofy calls to repeal the Second Amendment. Even Obama had to remind his followers that the Constitution could not be altered by his pen & phone.
True, the Left never gives up, but does that make them effectual?

One day later, March, 31, actress Lee Grant was on Good Morning America screaming about how “The NRA is a RIFLE organization! They should give up their handguns and they can KEEP THEIR RIFLES!”
Four years later they were screaming for a ban on rifles.

The American news media was thrilled and wanted the same thing for America.

Given the history of the treatment of the Jewish people, I cannot understand why your views on guns are not mainstream among American Jews.
I have lefty friends. I don’t bother to debate politics with them, though. There is no point. Facts and logic do not sway them, and they care about no one’s emotions but their own. My feelings don’t count to them.
So why bother? You might say “why bother?” to the question as to why they are my friends. Good question, but there it is.
I am no longer willing to even discuss any sort of compromise on anything. With me now it is my way or that is it. I won’t even discuss options or possibilities with a liberal. I am not willing to give up anything...I am as stubborn as they have been.
They did this, and the truth is they would still hate us if we gave into their every wish and just rolled over. So what is the point? Liberals do not care about what we want, they won’t even let us talk so- I’m done.
They want the Constitution! All the hoopla about guns, flags, that is not what their issue is. They want the Constitution so they can burn it. They don’t want us armed so we can defend it.
They have such hatred for us and our way of life, if we ever give up our guns they will do us in. I truly believe that. They think we are the only thing standing in their way and without us things would be sunny, bright, and perfect every day.
This has never really been a secret. The ridiculous irony is that under confiscation, the police would be our sole “protectors,” yet it is they who are killing black citizens in disproportionate numbers, according to the same leftists who want to disarm us in the face of these police.
Three words for the “common sense gun safety law” grabbers: 1) Chicago; 2) and 3) Response time.

I don’t think Trump is a jerk; he is someone that will not tolerate crap from anyone. As crazy as the liberals are if we had elected someone that was nice and completely professional no matter what- the liberals would just steam roll right over that person.
My first choice for President early on was Ben Carson; I really like him, he is a successful man- not a politician and I thought he might be great. It did not take me long to realize if he was elected he would not be able to do anything. He was just too nice.
I realized early on we needed a tough person that would stand up to the liberals every time, and would not give up when things got tough and just let them have their way.
We had to vote for Trump, nice just doesn’t work with liberals. I know because I have tried being nice to them myself.

At that point the games they play would be over, what they really want is the Constitution itself. Taking away firearms is just a step in getting control. They hate the Constitution, and want to do away with it, so the elite liberals can have total power. They have convinced the useful idiot liberals that conservatives and the Constitution are what is standing in the way of Utopia.
That is the end game for them. Any Constitutional provisions would have no meaning after they have total power.
That is why we have to have another conservative appointment to the USSC. That will give a solid conservative majority. Keep a close eye on the USSC.
